Desejos
Os desejos revelam o que há no coração. A Bíblia nos ensina a purificar nossos desejos, submeter a carne ao espírito e buscar as coisas que são de cima.
Desejos da carne
A carne milita contra o espírito. O cristão é chamado a vigiar, resistir e não satisfazer os desejos da natureza pecaminosa.
I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will certainly not gratify the desires of the flesh.
You were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another in love.
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness, paying attention to yoʋrself so that yoʋ too are not tempted.
Keep watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father, but from the world.
And the world is passing away along with its lusts, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
Put to death therefore whatever belongs to your earthly nature: fornication, impurity, lust, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Purificar os desejos
Guarda o teu coração. Das profundezas do interior do homem saem os desejos — bons ou maus, conforme o coração.
For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, and in their eagerness to become rich some have wandered away from the faith, piercing themselves with many sorrows.
"All things are lawful for me," but not all things are beneficial. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be mastered by anything.
But because of the cases of fornication, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband.
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to man. God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear, but with the temptation he will also provide the way out so that you can endure it.
Desejos santos
Como a corça deseja as correntes de água, minha alma suspira por ti, ó Deus. Os desejos do Espírito produzem vida e paz.

No one should say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God," for God is not tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
What then shall we say? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Yet I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness if the law had not said, "Yoʋ shall not covet."
Marriage must be held in honor by all, and the marriage bed must be kept pure, but God will judge fornicators and adulterers.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
