Deus nos chamou antes da fundação do mundo. Ele nos conhece pelo nome, nos predestinou para sermos conforme a imagem de Cristo e nos capacita para o chamado.
Chamados por Deus
Os que Deus predestinou, também os chamou. O Seu chamado é irrevogável — fundamentado no propósito eterno e na graça abundante.
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters;and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the boundless greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might
Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God, who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was granted to us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,
After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
And before you were born I consecrated you;
I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
A resposta ao chamado
Ninguém pode vir a mim se o Pai não o atrair. Deus escolheu os fracos para confundir os fortes — e nos chamou para a luz.
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.
For consider your calling, brothers and sisters, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong,
Listen, my beloved brothers and sisters: did God not choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?
For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself."
Confirmando o chamado
Procurai tornar cada vez mais firme a vossa vocação. Deus começou a boa obra e a completará até o dia de Cristo.
Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choice of you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work among you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus.
For many are called, but few are chosen."
