As crianças são preciosas aos olhos de Deus. Jesus as acolheu, abençoou e ensinou que delas é o Reino dos Céus — modelos de fé, pureza e humildade.
Jesus e as crianças
Deixai vir a mim as crianças. Jesus abraçou, abençoou e honrou as crianças como modelo de fé para os adultos.
14 But Jesus said, Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of the heavens.
1 At the same time the disciples came unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens?2 And Jesus called a little child unto him and set him in the midst of them3 and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of the heavens.4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of the heavens.
10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in the heavens their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in the heavens.
15 But when the princes of the priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did and the children crying out in the temple and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David, they were sore displeased16 and said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus said unto them, Yes; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of children and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?
15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.16 And taking them up in his arms and putting [his] hands upon them, he blessed them.
36 And taking a child, he set him in the midst of them; and taking him in his arms, he said unto them,37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receives me; and whosoever shall receive me, receives not me, but him that sent me.
Instruir e proteger
Instrui a criança no caminho de Deus. Elas são herança do Senhor — presentes sagrados que devemos educar com amor.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.
13 And all thy sons [shall be] taught of the LORD; and the peace of thy sons shall be multiplied.
3 Behold, sons [are] a heritage of the LORD, [and] the fruit of the womb [is] to be desired.
20 Children, obey [your] parents in all things, for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.21 Fathers, provoke not your children lest they become disheartened.
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.2 Honour thy father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise),3 that it may be well with thee, and thou may live long on the earth.4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.
24 The LORD bless thee and keep thee;25 the LORD make his face shine upon thee and have mercy on thee;26 the LORD lift up his face upon thee, and place peace in thee.
