Os avós são tesouros vivos de sabedoria e fé. A Bíblia honra os mais velhos e celebra a transmissão de fé entre gerações — dos avós aos netos e destes aos que virão.
A bênção dos avós
A coroa dos velhos são os filhos dos filhos. A misericórdia de Deus é de geração em geração sobre os que o temem.
Children’s children are the crown of old men;
And their fathers are the glory of children.
The faithful has the whole world full of wealth;
But the faithless not even a farthing.
There the sparrows will build their nests;
And the house of the heron takes the lead among them.
His breath shall go forth, and he shall return to his earth;
In that day all his thoughts shall perish.
Him that privily speaks against his neighbor, him have I driven from me:
He that is proud in look and insatiable in heart—with him I have not eaten.
Força e fidelidade
Mesmo na velhice darão frutos. Os cabelos brancos são coroa de glória. Deus não abandona seus filhos na idade avançada.
Old age is a crown of honor,
But it is found in the ways of righteousness.
I am he; and until ye shall have grown old, I am he: I bear you, I have made, and I will relieve, I will take up and save you.
For the young men shall hunger, and the youths shall be weary, and the choice men shall be powerless: but they that wait on God shall renew their strength; they shall put forth new feathers like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not hunger.
Take heed to thyself, and keep thy heart diligently: forget not any of the things, which thine eyes have seen, and let them not depart from thy heart all the days of thy life; and thou shalt teach thy sons and thy sons’ sons,
