Give instruction to a youth about his way, || Even when he is old he does not turn from it.

Whoever is sparing his rod is hating his son, || And whoever is loving him has hurried his discipline.

The righteous is habitually walking in his integrity, || O the blessedness of his sons after him!

The father of the righteous rejoices greatly, || The begetter of the wise rejoices in him.

Strong confidence [is] in the fear of YHWH, || And there is a refuge to His sons.

Honra e alegria

Honra a teu pai e tua mãe. Os filhos são herança do Senhor, e a família que serve a Deus junta é inabalável.

Honor your father and your mother, so that your days are prolonged on the ground which your God YHWH is giving to you.

Behold, sons [are] an inheritance of YHWH, || The fruit of the womb [is] a reward. As arrows in the hand of a mighty one, || So [are] the sons of the young men. O the blessedness of the man || Who has filled his quiver with them, || They are not ashamed, || For they speak with enemies in the gate!

and if [it is] wrong in your eyes to serve YHWHchoose for yourselves today whom you servewhether the gods whom your fathers served, which [are] beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorite in whose land you are dwelling; but me and my housewe serve YHWH."

Watch, stand in the faith; be men, be strong;

And having risen, he went to his own father, and he being yet far distant, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and having ran he fell on his neck and kissed him; and the son said to him, Father, I sinnedto Heaven, and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. And the father said to his servants, Bring forth the foremost robe, and clothe him, and give a ring for his hand, and sandals for the feet; and having brought the fatted calf, kill [it], and having eaten, we may be merry,
