O pai que educa
Instrui a criança no caminho em que deve andar. O pai justo educa com amor, firmeza e o exemplo de uma vida íntegra.
Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he grows older he will not abandon it.
He who withholds his rod hates his son,
But he who loves him disciplines him diligently.
A righteous person who walks in his integrity—
How blessed are his sons after him.
The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice,
And he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.
In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence,
And his children will have refuge.
Honra e alegria
Honra a teu pai e tua mãe. Os filhos são herança do Senhor, e a família que serve a Deus junta é inabalável.
"Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged on the land which the Lord your God gives you.
Behold, children are a gift of the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them;
They will not be ashamed
When they speak with their enemies in the gate.
But if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served, which were beyond the Euphrates River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
So he set out and came to his father. But when he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’But the father said to his slaves, ‘Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet;and bring the fattened calf, slaughter it, and let’s eat and celebrate;
