Para quando a angústia aperta e falta chão

A vida às vezes pesa mais do que a gente consegue carregar sozinho. Quando tudo parece desabar, estes versículos devolvem o fôlego e mostram onde colocar os pés:

1 God is our refuge and strength,

A very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will we not fear, though the earth do change,

And though the mountains be shaken into the heart of the seas;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled,

Though the mountains tremble with the swelling thereof. [Selah(Psalms 46:1-3)

Dá permissão para você parar de lutar sozinho: mesmo quando a rotina inteira estremece, o amparo de Deus é imediato.

8 Trust in him at all times, ye people;

Pour out your heart before him:

God is a refuge for us. [Selah(Psalms 62:8)

Tira o peso de ter que parecer forte: você pode derramar o peito diante de Deus com toda a verdade da sua dor.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Even as it is written,

For thy sake we are killed all the day long;

We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.(Romans 8:35-39)

Arranca a dúvida do abandono: nenhuma crise, perda ou sofrimento tem força para afastar você do amor de Cristo.

Para a incerteza do sustento e do amanhã

30 But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?(Matthew 6:30,31)

Desarma o desespero com o dia seguinte e lembra que quem sustenta os detalhes da vida não esquece das suas necessidades.

18 Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect;

And their inheritance shall be for ever.

19 They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil;

And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.(Psalms 37:18,19)

Traz sossego no aperto material, garantindo que Deus conhece os dias de crise e sustenta a sua dignidade.

Para quando você sente que vai desmoronar

8 we are pressed on every side, yet not straitened; perplexed, yet not unto despair; 9 pursued, yet not forsaken; smitten down, yet not destroyed;(2 Corinthians 4:8,9)

Mostra que o cansaço e a perplexidade não anulam a fé: você pode chegar ao limite das forças sem ser destruído pela situação.

2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.(Isaiah 43:2)

Garante que as águas profundas não vão afogar a sua vida — Deus atravessa a correnteza ao seu lado.

7 Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that take refuge in him.(Nahum 1:7)

Lembra que na hora da dificuldade Deus é abrigo seguro e conhece de perto quem busca refúgio nele.
