God Is Our Refuge and Strength

God is our refuge and strength,

an ever-present help in times of trouble.

2 Therefore we will not fear,

though the earth is transformed

and the mountains are toppled

into the depths of the seas,

3 though their waters roar and foam

and the mountains quake in the surge.

2 I will say to the LORD, "You are my refuge and my fortress,

my God, in whom I trust."

8 Trust in Him at all times, O people;

pour out your hearts before Him.

God is our refuge.

9 The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed,

a stronghold in times of trouble.

10 Those who know Your name trust in You,

for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.

9 You rule the raging sea;

when its waves mount up, You still them.

4 Above the roar of many waters—

the mighty breakers of the sea—

the LORD on high is majestic.

29 He calmed the storm to a whisper,

and the waves of the sea* were hushed.

More than Conquerors

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:

"For Your sake we face death all day long;

we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."*

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

16 The jar of flour was not exhausted and the jug of oil did not run dry, according to the word that the LORD had spoken through Elijah.

39 He spread a cloud as a covering

and a fire to light up the night.

40 They asked, and He brought quail

and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

41 He opened a rock, and water gushed out;

it flowed like a river in the desert.

25 I once was young and now am old,

yet never have I seen the righteous abandoned

or their children begging for bread.

18 The LORD knows the days of the blameless,

and their inheritance will last forever.

19 In the time of evil they will not be ashamed,

and in the days of famine they will be satisfied.

3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land,

and currents on the dry ground.

I will pour out My Spirit on your descendants,

and My blessing on your offspring.

4 For You have been a refuge for the poor,

a stronghold for the needy in distress,

a refuge from the storm,

a shade from the heat.

For the breath of the ruthless

is like rain against a wall,

6 a shelter to give shade

from the heat by day,

and a refuge and hiding place

from the storm and the rain.

2 When you pass through the waters,

I will be with you;

and when you go through the rivers,

they will not overwhelm you.

When you walk through the fire,

you will not be scorched;

the flames will not set you ablaze.

8 We are hard pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.

7 The LORD is good,

a stronghold in the day of distress;

He cares for those who trust in Him.

8 He wraps up the waters in His clouds,

yet the clouds do not burst under their own weight.

9 He covers the face of the full moon,*

spreading over it His cloud.

10 He has inscribed a horizon on the face of the waters

at the boundary between light and darkness.

21 You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue,

and will not fear havoc when it comes.

26 "You of little faith," Jesus replied, "why are you so afraid?" Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it was perfectly calm.

27 The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the sea obey Him!"

30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31 Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where God had prepared a place for her to be nourished for 1,260 days.

19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you.
