A Bíblia não trata o endividamento como pecado em si, mas adverte que a dívida tira a tranquilidade e compromete a liberdade de quem toma emprestado. O conselho das Escrituras é claro: evitar dívidas desnecessárias, pagar pontualmente tudo o que se deve e planejar a vida financeira com prudência.
The rich rules over the poor, || And a servant [is] the borrower to the lender.(Proverbs 22:7)
For your God YHWH has blessed you as He has spoken to you; and you have lent [to] many nations, but you have not borrowed; and you have ruled over many nations, but they do not rule over you.(Deuteronomy 15:6)

O dever de pagar e honrar compromissos
