Doença
A doença é realidade humana que a Bíblia confronta com compaixão e poder. Jesus curou toda enfermidade e prometeu ouvir a oração da fé pelos enfermos.
Jesus, o curador
Jesus percorreu toda a Galileia curando toda enfermidade e doença entre o povo. Pelo seu nome, curas continuam acontecendo.
Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages [in Galilee], teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news (gospel) of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness [His words and His works reflecting His Messiahship].
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
When evening came, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons; and He cast out the evil spirits with a word, and restored to health all who were sick [exhibiting His authority as Messiah], so that He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: "He Himself took our infirmities [upon Himself] and carried away our diseases." [Is 53:4]
I was naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me [with help and ministering care]; I was in prison, and you came to Me [ignoring personal danger].’ [Is 58:7] Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’The King will answer and say to them, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it for Me.’ [Prov 19:17]
When Jesus heard this, He said to them, "Those who are healthy have no need of a physician, but [only] those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners [who recognize their sin and humbly seek forgiveness]."
and heal those in it who are sick [authenticating your message], and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
Now Jesus called together the twelve [disciples] and gave them [the right to exercise] power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. Then He sent them out [on a brief journey] to preach the kingdom of God and to perform healing. [Matt 10:5]
Promessas de cura
Eu sou o Senhor que te sara. As Escrituras prometem cura para o corpo e para a alma aos que confiam em Deus.
saying, "If you will diligently listen and pay attention to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and listen to His commandments, and keep [foremost in your thoughts and actively obey] all His precepts and statutes, then I will not put on you any of the diseases which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you."
You shall serve [only] the Lord your God, and He shall bless your bread and water. I will also remove sickness from among you.
You shall serve [only] the Lord your God, and He shall bless your bread and water. I will also remove sickness from among you.
Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed;
Save me and I will be saved,
For You are my praise.
Who forgives all your sins,
Who heals all your diseases;
He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds [healing their pain and comforting their sorrow]. [Ps 34:18; Is 57:15; 61:1; Luke 4:18]
The Lord opens the eyes of the blind;
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
The Lord loves the righteous [the upright in heart]. [Luke 13:13; John 9:7, 32]
Blessed [by God’s grace and compassion] is he who considers the helpless;
The Lord will save him in the day of trouble.
The Lord will protect him and keep him alive;
And he will be called blessed in the land;
You do not hand him over to the desire of his enemies.
The Lord will sustain and strengthen him on his sickbed;
In his illness, You will restore him to health.
Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually].
Oração pelos doentes
A oração da fé salvará o enfermo. Confessai as ofensas uns aos outros e orai uns pelos outros para serdes curados.
Is anyone among you sick? He must call for the elders (spiritual leaders) of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) is able to accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].
Because of the surpassing greatness and extraordinary nature of the revelations [which I received from God], for this reason, to keep me from thinking of myself as important, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan, to torment and harass me—to keep me from exalting myself! [Job 2:6] Concerning this I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might leave me; but He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness." Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me. So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God’s strength].
Esperança na aflição
Ele tomou sobre si as nossas enfermidades. Mesmo na doença, o coração alegre serve de bom remédio e Deus dá esperança.
But [in fact] He has borne our griefs,
And He has carried our sorrows and pains;
Yet we [ignorantly] assumed that He was stricken,
Struck down by God and degraded and humiliated [by Him]. [Matt 8:17]

And He has carried our sorrows and pains;
Yet we [ignorantly] assumed that He was stricken,
Struck down by God and degraded and humiliated [by Him]. [Matt 8:17]
He was despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and pain and acquainted with grief;
And like One from whom men hide their faces
He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or esteem Him.
A happy heart is good medicine and a joyful mind causes healing,
But a broken spirit dries up the bones. [Prov 12:25; 15:13, 15]
The spirit of a man sustains him in sickness,
But as for a broken spirit, who can bear it?
Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
But when desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.
When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away
Through my groaning all the day long.
On the contrary, you know that it was because of a physical illness that I [remained and] preached the gospel to you the first time; and even though my physical condition was a trial to you, you did not regard it with contempt, or scorn and reject me; but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus Himself.
No longer continue drinking [only] water, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.
and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be death; there will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain; for the former order of things has passed away." [Is 25:8; 35:10]
