Striving for a Crown

Disciplina e vigilância
Sede sóbrios e vigilantes. O diabo anda em derredor como leão rugidor. A sobriedade nos protege e fortalece.
Be sober, be watchful; your adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour. Resist him, being steadfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
Serving for God’s Glory
Now the end of all things is at hand; therefore be of sound mind and self-controlled in your prayers.
Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the same mind, because he who suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the remaining time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. For we have spent enough of our past lifetime to accomplish the will of the Gentiles—having walked in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries. In regard to these, they are surprised that you do not run with them in the same flood of debauchery, reviling you. They will render an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all will be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then those who belong to Christ at His coming. Then will be the end, when He hands over the kingdom to God, even the Father, when He abolishes every ruler and every authority and power. For He must reign till He puts all His enemies under His feet.
