Fruto do Espírito

O fruto do Espírito inclui domínio próprio.

But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these.

For God has revealed his grace for the salvation of all people. That grace instructs us to give up ungodly living and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this world, as we wait for the blessed Day we hope for, when the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ will appear.

For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us timid; instead, his Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control.

For this very reason do your best to add goodness to your faith; to your goodness add knowledge; to your knowledge add self-control; to your self-control add endurance; to your endurance add godliness; to your godliness add Christian affection; and to your Christian affection add love.

It is better to be patient than powerful. It is better to win control over yourself than over whole cities.

If you cannot control your anger, you are as helpless as a city without walls, open to attack.

Stupid people express their anger openly, but sensible people are patient and hold it back.

The more you talk, the more likely you are to sin. If you are wise, you will keep quiet.

Surely you know that many runners take part in a race, but only one of them wins the prize. Run, then, in such a way as to win the prize. Every athlete in training submits to strict discipline, in order to be crowned with a wreath that will not last; but we do it for one that will last forever. That is why I run straight for the finish line; that is why I am like a boxer who does not waste his punches. I harden my body with blows and bring it under complete control, to keep myself from being disqualified after having called others to the contest.

But if you cannot restrain your desires, go ahead and marryit is better to marry than to burn with passion.

Every test that you have experienced is the kind that normally comes to people. But God keeps his promise, and he will not allow you to be tested beyond your power to remain firm; at the time you are put to the test, he will give you the strength to endure it, and so provide you with a way out.

Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Be firm in your faith and resist him, because you know that other believers in all the world are going through the same kind of sufferings.

Good Managers of God’s Gifts

The end of all things is near. You must be self-controlled and alert, to be able to pray.

Changed Lives

Since Christ suffered physically, you too must strengthen yourselves with the same way of thinking that he had; because whoever suffers physically is no longer involved with sin. From now on, then, you must live the rest of your earthly lives controlled by God’s will and not by human desires. You have spent enough time in the past doing what the heathen like to do. Your lives were spent in indecency, lust, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and the disgusting worship of idols. And now the heathen are surprised when you do not join them in the same wild and reckless living, and so they insult you. But they will have to give an account of themselves to God, who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

Each of you should know how to live with your wife in a holy and honorable way, not with a lustful desire, like the heathen who do not know God.

Praise the Lord, all his creatures

in all the places he rules.

Praise the Lord, my soul!

Your rule is eternal,

and you are king forever.

The Lord is faithful to his promises;

he is merciful in all his acts.

During this vision in the night, I saw what looked like a human being. He was approaching me, surrounded by clouds, and he went to the one who had been living forever and was presented to him. He was given authority, honor, and royal power, so that the people of all nations, races, and languages would serve him. His authority would last forever, and his kingdom would never end.

Listen to my account of the wonders and miracles which the Supreme God has shown me.

"How great are the wonders God shows us!

How powerful are the miracles he performs!

God is king forever; he will rule for all time.

A child is born to us!

A son is given to us!

And he will be our ruler.

He will be called, "Wonderful Counselor,"

"Mighty God," "Eternal Father,"

"Prince of Peace."

His royal power will continue to grow;

his kingdom will always be at peace.

He will rule as King David’s successor,

basing his power on right and justice,

from now until the end of time.

The Lord Almighty is determined to do all this.

He rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us safe into the kingdom of his dear Son, by whom we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven.

which he used when he raised Christ from death and seated him at his right side in the heavenly world. Christ rules there above all heavenly rulers, authorities, powers, and lords; he has a title superior to all titles of authority in this world and in the next.

We, however, are citizens of heaven, and we eagerly wait for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to come from heaven. He will change our weak mortal bodies and make them like his own glorious body, using that power by which he is able to bring all things under his rule.

For we know that Christ has been raised from death and will never die againdeath will no longer rule over him.

Those who obey their human nature cannot please God.

But you do not live as your human nature tells you to; instead, you live as the Spirit tells you toif, in fact, God’s Spirit lives in you. Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

For just as all people die because of their union with Adam, in the same way all will be raised to life because of their union with Christ. But each one will be raised in proper order: Christ, first of all; then, at the time of his coming, those who belong to him. Then the end will come; Christ will overcome all spiritual rulers, authorities, and powers, and will hand over the Kingdom to God the Father. For Christ must rule until God defeats all enemies and puts them under his feet.

God is powerful; all must stand in awe of him;

he keeps his heavenly kingdom in peace.
