Fruto do Espírito
O fruto do Espírito inclui domínio próprio. A graça de Deus nos ensina a viver de maneira sóbria e justa neste mundo.
And the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, [and] self-control. Against such there is no law;
For the saving grace of God has appeared to all men, teaching us, that denying the impiety and the worldly desires, we may live soberly, and righteously, and piously in the present age, waiting for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
for God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind;
And [for] this same [reason] also, having brought in all diligence, supplement your faith with virtue, and with virtue—knowledge, and with knowledge—self-control, and with self-control—endurance, and with endurance—piety, and with piety—brotherly kindness, and with brotherly kindness—love;
Governar a si mesmo
Melhor é o que domina o seu espírito do que o que toma uma cidade. A cidade sem muros é o homem sem domínio próprio.
Better [is] the [one] slow to anger than the mighty, || And the ruler over his spirit than he who is taking a city.
A city broken down without walls, || [Is] a man without restraint over his spirit!
A fool brings out all his mind, || And the wise restrains it until afterward.
In the abundance of words transgression does not cease, || And whoever is restraining his lips [is] wise.
have you not known that those running in a race—all indeed run, but one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain; and everyone who is striving is temperate in all things; these, indeed, then, that they may receive a corruptible garland, but we an incorruptible; I, therefore, thus run, not as uncertainly, thus I fight, as not beating air; but I bruise my body, and bring [it] into servitude, lest by any means, having preached to others—I myself may become disapproved.
and if they do not have continence—let them marry, for it is better to marry than to burn;
No temptation has taken you—except that of man; and God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted above what you are able, but He will make, with the temptation, also the outlet, for your being able to bear [it].
Disciplina e vigilância
Sede sóbrios e vigilantes. O diabo anda em derredor como leão rugidor. A sobriedade nos protege e fortalece.
Be sober, vigilant, because your opponent the Devil walks around as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may swallow up, whom you must resist, steadfast in the faith, having known the same sufferings of your brotherhood to be accomplished in the world.
Now the end of all things has come near; be sober-minded, then, and be sober in [your] prayers.
Christ, then, having suffered for us in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the same mind, because he who suffered in the flesh has finished [with] sin, no longer in the desires of men, but in the will of God, to live the rest of the time in the flesh; for the time has sufficiently passed to have carried out the will of the nations, having walked in licentiousness, lusts, excesses of wines, revelings, drinking-bouts, and unlawful idolatries, in which they think it strange—your not running with them to the same excess of wastefulness, slandering [you]— who will give an account to Him who is ready to judge [the] living and [the] dead,
that each of you know to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the affection of desire, as also the nations that were not knowing God,
O senhorio de Cristo
Todo domínio pertence a Cristo. Ele é Senhor dos senhores e Rei dos reis — e nos capacita a viver em santidade.
Bless YHWH, all you His works, || In all places of His dominion. Bless, O my soul, YHWH!
Your kingdom [is] a kingdom of all ages, || And Your dominion [is] in all generations. [[YHWH [is] faithful in all His words, || And kind in all His works.]]
I was seeing in the visions of the night, and behold, [One] like a Son of Man was coming with the clouds of the heavens, and to the Ancient of Days He has come, and before Him they have brought Him near. And to Him is given dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, and all peoples, nations, and languages serve Him, His dominion [is] a continuous dominion, that does not pass away, and His kingdom that which is not destroyed.
The signs and wonders that God Most High has done with me, it is good before me to show. How great His signs! And how mighty His wonders! His kingdom [is] a continuous kingdom, and His rule [is] with generation and generation.
For a Child has been born to us, || A Son has been given to us, || And the dominion is on His shoulder, || And He calls His Name || Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, || Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of [His] dominion, || And of peace, there is no end, || On the throne of David, and on His kingdom, || To establish it, and to support it, || In judgment and in righteousness, || From now on, even for all time, || The zeal of YHWH of Hosts does this.
who rescued us out of the authority of the darkness, and translated [us] into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have the redemption [[through His blood]], the forgiveness of sins,
which He worked in the Christ, having raised Him out of the dead, and sat [Him] at His right hand in the heavenly [places], far above all principality, and authority, and might, and lordship, and every name named, not only in this age, but also in the coming one;
For our citizenship is in the heavens, from where we also await a Savior—the Lord Jesus Christ— who will transform the body of our humiliation to its becoming conformed to the body of His glory, according to the working of His power, even to subject all things to Himself.
knowing that Christ, having been raised up out of the dead, dies no more; death has no more lordship over Him;
for neither is it able; and those who are in the flesh are not able to please God. And you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you; and if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ—this one is not His;
for even as in Adam all die, so also in the Christ all will be made alive, and each in his proper order: Christ, a first-fruit, afterward those who are the Christ’s in His coming, then—the end, when He may deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when He may have made all rule useless, and all authority and power. For it is necessary for Him to reign until He may have put all the enemies under His feet.
"The rule and fear [are] with Him, || Making peace in His high places.
