Every scripture is divinely inspired, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God may be complete, fully fitted to every good work.(2 Timothy 3:16,17)

Whoever therefore hears these my words and does them, I will liken him to a prudent man, who built his house upon the rock;(Matthew 7:24)

Let the word of the Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another, in psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God.(Colossians 3:16)

For as many things as have been written before have been written for our instruction, that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.(Romans 15:4)

Proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel: to know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding; to receive the instruction of wisdom, righteousness and judgment, and equity; to give prudence to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. He that is wise will hear, and will increase learning; and the intelligent will gain wise counsels: to understand a proverb and an allegory, the words of the wise and their enigmas.

The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge: fools despise wisdom and instruction.(Proverbs 1:1-7)

and thou shalt love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thy heart; and thou shalt impress them on thy sons, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou goest on the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.(Deuteronomy 6:5-7)

Give ear, O my people, to my law; incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter riddles from of old, Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us: We will not hide them from their sons, shewing forth to the generation to come the praises of Jehovah, and his strength, and his marvellous works which he hath done.(Psalms 78:1-4)

And also all that generation were gathered to their fathers; and there arose another generation after them, which knew not Jehovah, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.(Judges 2:10)

Hear, my son, the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the teaching of thy mother; for they shall be a garland of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.(Proverbs 1:8,9)

Get wisdom, get intelligence: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall keep thee; love her, and she shall preserve thee. The beginning of wisdom is, Get wisdom; and with all thy getting get intelligence. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee; she shall bring thee to honour when thou dost embrace her.(Proverbs 4:5-8)

Take fast hold of instruction, let her not go: keep her, for she is thy life.

Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men:(Proverbs 4:13,14)

Keep thy heart more than anything that is guarded; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee perverseness of mouth, and corrupt lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be well-ordered. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left; remove thy foot from evil.(Proverbs 4:23-27)

My son, observe thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the teaching of thy mother; bind them continually upon thy heart, tie them about thy neck: when thou walkest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. For the commandment is a lamp, and the teaching a light, and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:(Proverbs 6:20-23)

The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the Holy is intelligence.(Proverbs 9:10)

The teaching of the wise man is a fountain of life, to turn away from the snares of death.(Proverbs 13:14)

But when it was now the middle of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught. The Jews therefore wondered, saying, How knows this man letters, having never learned? Jesus therefore answered them and said, My doctrine is not mine, but that of him that has sent me. If any one desire to practise his will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is of God, or that I speak from myself. He that speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but he that seeks the glory of him that has sent him, he is true, and unrighteousness is not in him.(John 7:14-18)

Let the elders who take the lead among the saints well be esteemed worthy of double honour, specially those labouring in word and teaching; for the scripture says, Thou shalt not muzzle an ox that treadeth out corn, and, The workman is worthy of his hire.(1 Timothy 5:17,18)

But profane, vain babblings shun, for they will advance to greater impiety, and their word will spread as a gangrene; of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;(2 Timothy 2:16,17)

Whosoever goes forward and abides not in the doctrine of the Christ has not God. He that abides in the doctrine, he has both the Father and the Son.(2 John 1:9)
