Esperar no Senhor
Esperar no Senhor é ato de fé e confiança. A Bíblia promete que os que esperam em Deus renovam as forças, recebem direção e experimentam a fidelidade divina no tempo certo.
Renovar as forças
Os que esperam no Senhor renovam as forças. Sobem como águias, correm e não se cansam, caminham e não se fatigam.
But those who trust the Lord
will find new strength.
They will be strong like eagles
soaring upward on wings;
they will walk and run
without getting tired.
The Lord Will Show Mercy
The Lord God is waiting
to show how kind he is
and to have pity on you.
The Lord always does right;
he blesses those who trust him.
Trust the Lord!
Be brave and strong
and trust the Lord.
but I know I will live
to see how kind you are.
Trust the Lord!
Be brave and strong
and trust the Lord.
A Prayer of Praise
You, Lord, are the light
that keeps me safe.
I am not afraid of anyone.
You protect me,
and I have no fears.
Brutal people may attack
and try to kill me,
but they will stumble.
Fierce enemies may attack,
but they will fall.
Armies may surround me,
but I won’t be afraid;
war may break out,
but I will trust you.
I ask only one thing, Lord:
Let me live in your house
every day of my life
to see how wonderful you are
and to pray in your temple.
In times of trouble, Lord,
you will protect me.
You will hide me in your tent
and keep me safe
on top of a mighty rock.
You will let me defeat
all my enemies.
Then I will celebrate,
as I enter your tent
with animal sacrifices
and songs of praise.
Please listen when I pray!
Have pity. Answer my prayer.
My heart tells me to pray.
I am eager to see your face,
so don’t hide from me.
I am your servant, Lord,
and you have helped me.
Don’t turn from me in anger.
You alone keep me safe.
Don’t reject or desert me.
Even if my father and mother
should desert me,
you will take care of me.
Teach me to follow, Lord,
and lead me on the right path
because of my enemies.
Don’t let them do to me
what they want.
People tell lies about me
and make violent threats,
but I know I will live
to see how kind you are.
Trust the Lord!
Be brave and strong
and trust the Lord.
Espera paciente
Esperei com paciência no Senhor e Ele se inclinou para mim. Confie nele e descanse — Ele agirá no tempo certo.
A Prayer for Help
I patiently waited, Lord,
for you to hear my prayer.
You listened and pulled me
from a lonely pit
full of mud and mire.
You let me stand on a rock
with my feet firm,
and you gave me a new song,
a song of praise to you.
Many will see this,
and they will honor and trust
you, the Lord God.
You bless all of those
who trust you, Lord,
and refuse to worship idols
or follow false gods.
You, Lord God, have done
many wonderful things,
and you have planned
marvelous things for us.
No one is like you!
I would never be able to tell
all you have done.
Sacrifices and offerings
are not what please you;
gifts and payment for sin
are not what you demand.
But you made me willing
to listen and obey.
And so, I said, "I am here
to do what is written
about me in the book,
where it says,
‘I enjoy pleasing you.
Your Law is in my heart.’ "
When your people worshiped,
you know I told them,
"Our Lord always helps!"
When all your people met,
I did not keep silent.
I said, "Our Lord is kind.
He is faithful and caring,
and he saves us."
You, Lord, never fail
to have pity on me;
your love and faithfulness
always keep me secure.
I have more troubles
than I can count.
My sins are all around me,
and I can’t find my way.
My sins outnumber
the hairs on my head,
and I feel weak.
Please show that you care
and come to my rescue.
Hurry and help me!
Disgrace and confuse
all who want me dead;
turn away and disgrace
all who want to hurt me.
We depend on you, Lord,
to help and protect us.
You make our hearts glad
because we trust you,
the only God.
Be kind and bless us!
We depend on you.
With all my heart,
I am waiting, Lord, for you!
I trust your promises.
I wait for you more eagerly
than a soldier on guard duty
waits for the dawn.
Yes, I wait more eagerly
than a soldier on guard duty
waits for the dawn.
Only God gives inward peace,
and I depend on him.
Trust the Lord and follow him.
He will give you the land,
and you will see
the wicked destroyed.
Confiança e perseverança
Confie no Senhor de todo o coração. Sede pacientes na tribulação — o Senhor é fiel e cumprirá todas as suas promessas.
With all your heart
you must trust the Lord
and not your own judgment.
Always let him lead you,
and he will clear the road
for you to follow.
But that’s not all! We gladly suffer, because we know that suffering helps us to endure. And endurance builds character, which gives us a hope
His glorious power will make you patient and strong enough to endure anything, and you will be truly happy.
Be Patient and Kind
My friends, be patient until the Lord returns. Think of farmers who wait patiently for the autumn and spring rains to make their valuable crops grow. Be patient like those farmers and don’t give up. The Lord will soon be here!
In fact, we praise the ones who endured the most. You remember how patient Job was and how the Lord finally helped him. The Lord did this because he is so merciful and kind.
You obeyed the truth, and your souls were made pure. Now you sincerely love each other. But you must keep on loving with all your heart. Do this because God has given you new birth by his message that lives on forever. The Scriptures say,
"Humans wither like grass,
and their glory fades
like wild flowers.
Grass dries up,
and flowers fall
to the ground.
But what the Lord has said
will stand forever."
Our good news to you is what the Lord has said.
The Lord isn’t slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost.
A Story about Ten Young Women
The kingdom of heaven is like what happened one night when ten young women took their oil lamps and went to a wedding to meet the groom.Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps, but no extra oil. The ones who were wise took along extra oil for their lamps.
The groom was late arriving, and the young women became drowsy and fell asleep. Then in the middle of the night someone shouted, "Here’s the groom! Come to meet him!"
When the women got up and started getting their lamps ready, the foolish ones said to the others, "Let us have some of your oil! Our lamps are going out."
Those who were wise answered, "There’s not enough oil for all of us! Go and buy some for yourselves."
While the foolish ones were on their way to get some oil, the groom arrived. The five who were ready went into the wedding, and the doors were closed. Later the others returned and shouted, "Sir, sir! Open the door for us!"
But the groom replied, "I don’t even know you!"
So, my disciples, always be ready! You don’t know the day or the time when all this will happen.
