Estudar a Bíblia
Estudar a Bíblia é mergulhar na mente de Deus. A Palavra é lâmpada para os pés, espada do Espírito e alimento para a alma. O cristão que estuda cresce em sabedoria e maturidade.
A importância do estudo
Os bereanos eram mais nobres porque examinavam as Escrituras diariamente. Estudar a Bíblia é mandamento e privilégio.
Meditar e guardar
Não se aparte a lei do Senhor da tua boca. Medita nela de dia e de noite para que cumpras tudo o que nela está escrito.
And the book of this law shall not depart out of thy mouth, and thou shalt meditate in it day and night, that thou mayest know how to do all the things that are written in it; then shalt thou prosper, and make thy ways prosperous, and then shalt thou be wise.
I was peaceable among them that hated peace; when I spoke to them, they warred against me without a cause.
Estudo diligente
Esdras preparou o coração para buscar e ensinar a lei. O estudo exige disciplina, constância e coração aberto.
For in the first day of the first month he began the going up from Babylon, and in the first day of the fifth month they came to Jerusalem, for the good hand of his God was upon him. For Esdras had determined in his heart to seek the law, and to do and teach the ordinances and judgments in Israel.
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy mind, and with all thy soul, and all thy strength. And these words, all that I command thee this day, shall be in thy heart and in thy soul. And thou shalt teach them to thy children, and thou shalt speak of them sitting in the house, and walking by the way, and lying down, and rising up. And thou shalt fasten them for a sign upon thy hand, and it shall be immoveable before thine eyes. And ye shall write them on the lintels of your houses and of your gates.
And when he shall be established in his government, then shall he write for himself this repetition of the law into a book by the hands of the priests the Levites; and it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord thy God, and to keep all these commandments, and to observe these ordinances: that his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, that he depart not from the commandments on the right hand or on the left; that he and his sons may reign long in his dominion among the children of Israel.
The Proverbs of Solomon son of David, who reigned in Israel; to know wisdom and instruction, and to perceive words of understanding; to receive also hard sayings, and to understand true justice, and how to direct judgment; that he might give subtlety to the simple, and to the young man discernment and understanding. For by the hearing of these a wise man will be wiser, and the man of understanding will gain direction; and will understand a parable, and a dark speech; the sayings of the wise also, and riddles.
My son, forget not my laws; but let thine heart keep my words: for length of existence, and years of life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
Take hold of my instruction; let it not go,—but keep it for thyself for thy life.
For the commandment of the law is a lamp and a light; a way of life; reproof also and correction:
Proteção e crescimento
Quem ignora a Palavra perece. Toda Escritura é útil — crescei na graça e no conhecimento do nosso Senhor.
My people are like as if they had no knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt not minister as priest to me: and as thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children.
For he has given the law for a help, that they should not speak according to this word, concerning which there are no gifts to give for it.
