O Livro de Apocalipse, o último livro da Bíblia, é conhecido por suas visões e símbolos que retratam o fim dos tempos. Escrito pelo apóstolo João enquanto estava exilado na ilha de Patmos, o livro contém profecias sobre o julgamento final, a vitória de Cristo sobre as forças do mal e a criação de um novo céu e uma nova terra. Embora muitas vezes seja considerado enigmático, Apocalipse traz mensagens de esperança e vitória para os cristãos.
A introdução e as cartas às igrejas
Apocalipse começa com uma visão gloriosa de Jesus Cristo, revelando sua autoridade divina. João é instruído a escrever cartas para sete igrejas da Ásia Menor, abordando as condições espirituais de cada uma. Essas cartas contêm exortações e advertências, mas também promessas de recompensa para os que perseveram na fé.
Apocalipse 1:10-11
I was in the Spirit [Ruach] on the Lord - Kurios’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What youi see, write in a book, and send [it] unto the seven churches which are in Asia [orient]; unto Ephesus [permitted], and unto Smyrna [myrrh], and unto Pergamos [height or elevation], and unto Thyatira [odour of affliction], and unto Sardis [red ones], and unto Philadelphia [brotherly love], and unto Laodicea [justice of the people].
As visões do céu e o livro selado
Após as cartas às igrejas, João tem uma visão do céu, onde vê Deus no trono e o Cordeiro (Jesus Cristo) digno de abrir um livro selado com sete selos. Quando os selos são abertos, uma série de eventos cataclísmicos e julgamentos são revelados, simbolizando os desafios e sofrimentos que os cristãos enfrentarão até o fim dos tempos.
Apocalipse 5:1-2
And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
As sete trombetas e o juízo final
Quando o livro é aberto, são tocadas sete trombetas, que trazem ainda mais calamidades sobre a terra. Essas trombetas representam a ira de Deus contra o pecado e a injustiça. A sétima trombeta, no entanto, anuncia a vitória definitiva de Cristo e o início do seu reinado eterno.
Apocalipse 11:15
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become [the kingdoms] of our Lord - Kurios, and of his Moshiach [Messiah]; and he shall reign forever and ever.
A Besta, o Anticristo e a marca da besta
No Apocalipse, também encontramos a figura da besta, que simboliza a oposição a Cristo e a perseguição dos fiéis. A besta recebe poder do dragão (Satanás) e exige adoração. O famoso número 666 é associado à marca da besta, que aqueles que a seguem são obrigados a carregar. A marca da besta é um símbolo do compromisso com o mal e da rejeição a Deus.
Apocalipse 13:16-17
And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a Mark [a defense] in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the Mark [a defense], or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
A vitória de Cristo e a nova Jerusalém
O Livro de Apocalipse culmina com a vitória final de Cristo sobre Satanás e seus seguidores. Após a grande batalha, o céu e a terra são recriados, e Deus estabelece Seu reinado eterno. A nova Jerusalém desce do céu, e Deus habita com o Seu povo em perfeita comunhão, onde não haverá mais dor, sofrimento ou morte.
Apocalipse 21:1-4
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
And I Yochanan [Yehovah has graced] saw the holy city, new Yerushalayim [Foundation of Peace], coming down from God-The Father out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God-The Father [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God-The Father himself shall be with them, [and be] their God-The Father.
And God-The Father shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
O Livro de Apocalipse é, ao mesmo tempo, um livro de juízo e esperança. Ele nos assegura que, apesar das tribulações e perseguições que os cristãos possam enfrentar, a vitória final é de Cristo, e com Ele, o povo de Deus terá vida eterna.
