Filho do homem
Filho do Homem é o título que Jesus mais usou para si mesmo. Ele conecta sua humanidade plena com a visão profética de Daniel sobre o Messias glorioso que receberá domínio eterno.
A profecia de Daniel
Daniel viu alguém como o Filho do Homem vindo com as nuvens do céu. Foi-lhe dado domínio, glória e reino eterno.
"I kept looking in the night visions,
And behold, on the clouds of heaven
One like a Son of Man was coming,
And He came up to the Ancient of Days
And was presented before Him.
"And to Him (the Messiah) was given dominion (supreme authority),
Glory and a kingdom,
That all the peoples, nations, and speakers of every language
Should serve and worship Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
Which will not pass away;
And His kingdom is one
Which will not be destroyed. [Rev 5:1-10]
and in the midst of the lampstands I saw someone like the Son of Man, dressed in a robe reaching to His feet, and with a golden sash wrapped around His chest. [Dan 7:13; 10:5]
Again I looked, and this is what I saw: a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was One like the Son of Man, with a crown of gold on His head and a sharp sickle [of swift judgment] in His hand. [Dan 7:13, 14; Matt 13:30, 40-42]
and he said, "Look! I see the heavens opened up [in welcome] and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!"
Jesus, o Filho do Homem
O Filho do Homem veio buscar e salvar o que se havia perdido. Ele tem autoridade para perdoar pecados e julgar.
[For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.]
He answered, "The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man,
for just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. [Jon 1:17]
When they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is going to be betrayed and handed over to men [who are His enemies];
Therefore, you [who follow Me] must also be ready; because the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him.
"But when the Son of Man comes in His glory and majesty and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. [Rev 20:4-6]
because He was teaching His disciples [and preparing them for the future]. He told them, "The Son of Man is to be betrayed and handed over to men [who are His enemies], and they will kill Him; and when He has been killed, He will rise [from the dead] three days later."
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many."
But, in order that you may know that the Son of Man (the Messiah) has authority and power on earth to forgive sins"—He said to the paralyzed man, "I say to you, get up, pick up your stretcher and go home."
And Jesus told him, "Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head."
For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part of the sky, gives light to the other part of the sky, so [visible] will the Son of Man be in His day.
Glória e autoridade
Quando o Filho do Homem for levantado, atrairá todos a si. Ele é plenamente humano e plenamente divino.
So Jesus said, "When you lift up the Son of Man [on the cross], you will know then [without any doubt] that I am He, and that I do nothing on My own authority, but I say these things just as My Father taught Me.
Then He said to him, "I assure you and most solemnly say to you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man [the bridge between heaven and earth]." [Gen 28:12; Dan 7:13]
But one has [solemnly] testified somewhere [in Scripture], saying,
"What is man, that You are mindful of him,
Or the son of man, that You graciously care for him?
