Os filhos são herança do Senhor — bênção e responsabilidade sagrada. A Bíblia orienta sobre a criação dos filhos com amor, disciplina e instrução nos caminhos de Deus.
Herança do Senhor
Os filhos são herança do Senhor e o fruto do ventre é seu galardão. Bem-aventurado o homem que enche deles a sua aljava.
Thy wife as a fruitful vine, on the sides of thy house.
Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.
May the Lord bless thee out of Sion: and mayest thou see the good things of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
Often have they fought against me from my youth, let Israel now say.

The Lord who is just will cut the necks of sinners:

To make thy might known to the sons of men: and the glory of the magnificence of thy kingdom.

And God blessed them, saying: Increase and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and all living creatures that move upon the earth.
Blessed shall be the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the droves of thy herds, and the folds of thy sheep.
Blessed shalt thou be among all people. No one shall be barren among you of either sex, neither of men nor cattle.
Instruir e disciplinar
Instrui a criança no caminho em que deve andar, e quando envelhecer não se desviará dele. Disciplina é amor em ação.
It is a proverb: A young man according to his way, even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, and the rod of correction shall drive it away.
He that spareth the rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him correcteth him betimes.
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but the child that is left to his own will bringeth his mother to shame.
Withhold not correction from a child: for if thou strike him with the rod, he shall not die.
Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend that you may know prudence.
A wise son maketh the father glad: but a foolish son is the sorrow of his mother.
And these words which I command thee this day, shall be in thy heart: And thou shalt tell them to thy children, and thou shalt meditate upon them sitting in thy house, and walking on thy journey, sleeping and rising.
O amor de Deus por crianças
Deixai vir a mim as crianças. Jesus acolheu, abençoou e honrou as crianças como modelo de fé e humildade.
Whom when Jesus saw, he was much displeased, and saith to them: Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God.
If you then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more will your Father who is in heaven, give good things to them that ask him?
And Jesus advanced in wisdom, and age, and grace with God and men.
Thou waterest the hills from thy upper rooms: the earth shall be filled with the fruit of thy works:
Behold what manner of charity the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called, and should be the sons of God. Therefore the world knoweth not us, because it knew not him.
Bênção e promessa
O Senhor te abençoe e te guarde. Os filhos dos justos serão abençoados e suas gerações caminharão na retidão.
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee. The Lord shew his face to thee, and have mercy on thee. The Lord turn his countenance to thee, and give thee peace.
God give thee the dew of heaven, and of the fatness of the earth, abundance of corn and wine. And let peoples serve thee, and tribes worship thee: be thou lord of thy brethren, and let thy mother’s children bow down before thee. Cursed be he that curseth thee: and let him that blesseth thee be filled with blessings.
For I will pour out waters upon the thirsty ground, and streams upon the dry land: I will pour out my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thy stock. And they shall spring up among the herbs, as willows beside the running waters.
All thy children shall be taught of the Lord: and great shall be the peace of thy children.
Before I formed thee in the bowels of thy mother, I knew thee: and before thou camest forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and made thee a prophet unto the nations.
And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me all days: and that it may be well with them, and with their children after them.
I know that the Lord will do justice to the needy, and will revenge the poor.
But as for the just, they shall give glory to thy name: and the upright shall dwell with thy countenance.
We are become a reproach to our neighbours: a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.
Children’s children are the crown of old men: and the glory of children are their fathers.
The just that walketh in his simplicity, shall leave behind him blessed children.
Criação e obediência
Pais, criai vossos filhos na disciplina e instrução do Senhor. Filhos, obedecei a vossos pais — isto é justo e agradável a Deus.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is just. Honour thy father and thy mother, which is the first commandment with a promise: That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest be long lived upon earth.
And you, fathers, provoke not your children to anger; but bring them up in the discipline and correction of the Lord.
Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing to the Lord.
Fathers, provoke not your children to indignation, lest they be discouraged.
Honour thy father and thy mother, that thou mayest be longlived upon the land which the Lord thy God will give thee.
Persevere under discipline. God dealeth with you as with his sons; for what son is there, whom the father doth not correct? But if you be without chastisement, whereof all are made partakers, then are you bastards, and not sons.
But if any widow have children, or grandchildren, let her learn first to govern her own house, and to make a return of duty to her parents: for this is acceptable before God.
A woman, when she is in labour, hath sorrow, because her hour is come; but when she hath brought forth the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
Your children, of whom you said that they should be led away captives, and your sons who know not this day the difference of good and evil, they shall go in: and to them I will give the land, and they shall possess it.
