A Bíblia fala sobre o fim do mundo como evento certo e definitivo. Céus e terra passarão, mas as palavras de Jesus jamais passarão. A questão não é se, mas quando.

Os céus e a terra passarão, mas as palavras de Jesus permanecerão para sempre. O mundo presente é temporário.
The heaven and the earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
"Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
"But no one knows concerning that day and hour, not even the angels of the heavens, except my Father alone.
"Now concerning that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels who are in heaven, not the Son, but only the Father.
O dia do Senhor
O dia do Senhor virá como ladrão. Os céus passarão com grande estrondo, e os elementos se dissolverão no fogo.
Destruição e renovação
O Dia do Senhor trará juízo sobre os ímpios, mas também novos céus e nova terra onde habita a justiça.
"There will be signs in sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, at the roaring and tossing of the sea; men fainting from fear and expectation of the things coming on the inhabited earth—because the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
So be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that are about to happen and to stand before the Son of the Man."
