A Bíblia fala sobre o fim do mundo como evento certo e definitivo. Céus e terra passarão, mas as palavras de Jesus jamais passarão. A questão não é se, mas quando.
Os céus passarão
Os céus e a terra passarão, mas as palavras de Jesus permanecerão para sempre. O mundo presente é temporário.
The heaven and the earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.
And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken;
And concerning that day and the hour no one has known—not even the messengers of the heavens—except My Father only;
And concerning that day and the hour no one has known—not even the messengers who are in Heaven, not even the Son—except the Father.
O dia do Senhor
O dia do Senhor virá como ladrão. Os céus passarão com grande estrondo, e os elementos se dissolverão no fogo.
and it will come—the Day of the LORD—as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements will be dissolved with burning heat, and [the] earth and the works in it will not be found.
and by the same word, the present heavens and earth, having been stored up for fire, are being preserved until [the] day of judgment and destruction of impious men.
All these, then, being dissolved, what kind of persons ought you to be in holy behaviors and pious acts, waiting for and hurrying the coming of the Day of God, by which the heavens, being on fire, will be dissolved, and the elements will melt with burning heat?
And concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need of my writing to you, for you have thoroughly known that the Day of the LORD so comes as a thief in the night, for when they may say, "Peace and security," then sudden destruction comes [on] them, as the travail [on] her who is with child, and they will not escape; but you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the Day may catch you as a thief; you are all sons of light, and sons of day; we are not of night, nor of darkness,
but you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the Day may catch you as a thief; you are all sons of light, and sons of day; we are not of night, nor of darkness, so, then, we may not sleep as also the others, but watch and be sober, for those sleeping, sleep by night, and those making themselves drunk, are drunken by night, and we, being of the day—let us be sober, putting on a breastplate of faith and love, and a helmet—a hope of salvation, because God did not appoint us to anger, but to the acquiring of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Destruição e renovação
O Dia do Senhor trará juízo sobre os ímpios, mas também novos céus e nova terra onde habita a justiça.
Near [is] the Great Day of YHWH, || Near, and hastening exceedingly, || The noise of the Day of YHWH, || There a mighty one bitterly shrieks. A day of wrath [is] that day, || A day of adversity and distress, || A day of devastation and desolation, || A day of darkness and gloominess, || A day of cloud and thick darkness, A day of horn and shouting against the fortified cities, || And against the high corners. "And I have sent distress to men, || And they have walked as the blind, || For against YHWH they have sinned, || And poured out is their blood as dust, || And their flesh [is] as dung." Even their silver, even their gold, is not able to deliver them in a day of the wrath of YHWH, and in the fire of His jealousy is the whole land consumed, for He makes only a hurried end of all the inhabitants of the land!
Behold, the Day of YHWH comes, || Fierce, with wrath, and heat of anger, || To make the land become a desolation, || Indeed, He destroys its sinning ones from it.
And I saw when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, a great earthquake came, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood, and the stars of Heaven fell to the earth—as a fig tree casts her unripe figs, being shaken by a great wind—
and the great dragon was cast forth—the old serpent, who is called "Devil," and "Satan," who is leading the whole world astray—he was cast forth to the earth, and his messengers were cast forth with him.
And there will be signs in sun, and moon, and stars, and on the earth distress of nations with perplexity, sea and wave roaring; men fainting at heart from fear, and expectation of the things coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
watch, then, in every season, praying that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that are about to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea is no more; and I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of Heaven, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband; and I heard a great voice out of Heaven, saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God [is] with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His peoples, and God Himself will be with them [as] their God, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor will there be anymore pain, because the first things passed away." And He who is sitting on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new"; and He says to me, "Write, because these words are true and steadfast";
