14 And this gospel of the kingdom *will be proclaimed throughout the whole world *as a testimony *to all nations, and *then the end will come.

29 "Immediately after *the tribulation of those days *the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and *the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.30 Then *will appear in heaven *the sign of the Son of Man, and then *all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and *they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven *with power and great glory.31 And *he will send out his angels with a loud *trumpet call, and they will *gather *his elect from *the four winds, *from one end of heaven to the other.

42 Therefore, *stay awake, for you do not know on what day *your Lord is coming.43 *But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night *the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into.44 Therefore you also must be *ready, for *the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

20 teaching them *to observe all that *I have commanded you. And behold, *I am with you always, to *the end of the age."

32 "But concerning that day or that hour, *no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, *nor the Son, *but only the Father.

1 But understand this, that *in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be *lovers of self, *lovers of money, *proud, *arrogant, abusive, *disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 *heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, *not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, *swollen with conceit, *lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but *denying its power. *Avoid such people.

17 *"‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,

*that I will pour out my Spirit *on all flesh,

and your sons and *your daughters shall prophesy,

and your young men shall see visions,

and your old men shall dream dreams;

18 even on my male servants and female servants

in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and *they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in the heavens above

and signs on the earth below,

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;

20 *the sun shall be turned to darkness

and the moon to blood,

before *the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.

21 And it shall come to pass that *everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’

28 **"And it shall come to pass afterward,

that *I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;

*your sons and *your daughters shall prophesy,

your old men shall dream dreams,

and your young men shall see visions.

29 *Even on the male and female servants

in those days I will pour out my Spirit.

1 "At that time shall arise *Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And *there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, *everyone whose name shall be found written in the book. 2 And many of those who *sleep in *the dust of the earth shall *awake, *some to everlasting life, and *some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 *And those who are wise *shall shine like the brightness of the sky above;* and *those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

15 For this we declare to you *by a word from the Lord,* that *we who are alive, who are left until *the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For *the Lord himself will descend *from heaven *with a cry of command, with the voice of *an archangel, and *with the sound of the trumpet of God. And *the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be *caught up together with them *in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so *we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

6 So then *let us not sleep, as others do, but let us *keep awake and *be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, *are drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, *having put on the breastplate of *faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God has not destined us for *wrath, but *to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

34 "But watch yourselves *lest *your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and *cares of this life, and *that day come upon you suddenly *like a trap.35 For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth.36 But *stay awake at all times, *praying that you may *have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and *to stand before the Son of Man."

8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and *a thousand years as one day. 9 *The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise *as some count slowness, but *is patient toward you,**not wishing that any should perish, but *that all should reach repentance. 10 But *the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then *the heavens will pass away with a roar, and *the heavenly bodies* will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.*

11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, *what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 *waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and *the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for *new heavens and a new earth *in which righteousness dwells.

51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. *We shall not all sleep, *but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For *the trumpet will sound, and *the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.

17 "For behold, *I create new heavens

and a new earth,

and the former things shall not be remembered

or come into mind.

18 But be glad and rejoice forever

in that which I create;

for behold, *I create Jerusalem to be a joy,

and her people to be a gladness.

19 *I will rejoice in Jerusalem

and be glad in my people;

*no more shall be heard in it the sound of weeping

and the cry of distress.

1 *"For behold, *the day is coming, *burning like an oven, when *all the arrogant and *all evildoers *will be stubble. The day that is coming *shall set them ablaze, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But for you *who fear my name, *the sun *of righteousness shall rise *with healing in its wings. You shall go out *leaping like calves from the stall.

1 Then I saw *a new heaven and a new earth, for *the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw *the holy city, *new Jerusalem, *coming down out of heaven from God, *prepared *as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, *the dwelling place* of God is with man. He will *dwell with them, and they will be his people,* and God himself will be with them as their God.*4 *He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and *death shall be no more, *neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
