5 Let your reasonableness* be known to everyone. *The Lord is at hand;

1 *A soft answer turns away wrath,

but *a harsh word stirs up anger.

24 *Gracious words are like *a honeycomb,

sweetness to the soul and *health to the body.

5 *Walk in wisdom toward *outsiders, making the best use of the time. 6 Let your speech always *be gracious, *seasoned with salt, *so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

12 *Put on then, as *God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, *compassionate hearts, *kindness, *humility, meekness, and patience,

22 But *the fruit of the Spirit is *love, joy, peace, patience, *kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 *gentleness, *self-control; *against such things there is no law.

10 So then, *as we have opportunity, let us *do good to everyone, and especially to those who are *of the household of faith.

1 Let *brotherly love continue. 2 *Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby *some have entertained angels unawares.

13 *Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide *never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.

17 *"You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but *you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you *incur sin because of him. 18 *You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but *you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

9 "Thus says the Lord of hosts, *Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, 10 *do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, *or the poor, and *let none of you devise evil against another in your heart."

20 Truly, truly, I say to you, *whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me."
