11 But *thou*, O man of God, flee these things, and pursue righteousness, piety, faith, love, endurance, meekness of spirit.

12 Let no one despise thy youth, but be a model of the believers, in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

13 Be vigilant; stand fast in the faith; quit yourselves like men; be strong.14 Let all things ye do be done in love.

8 He hath shewn thee, O man, what is good: and what doth Jehovah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with thy God?

9 This is the history of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect amongst his generations: Noah walked with God.

1 There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and this man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God and abstained from evil.

6 There was a man sent from God, his name John.7 He came for witness, that he might witness concerning the light, that all might believe through him.

24 Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.

12 but as many as received him, to them gave he {the} right to be children of God, to those that believe on his name;13 who have been born, not of blood, nor of flesh's will, nor of man's will, but of God.

31 {But} we know that God does not hear sinners; but if any one be God-fearing and do his will, him he hears.

9 BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his path? by taking heed according to thy word.10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: let me not wander from thy commandments.11 Thy *word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.12 Blessed art thou, Jehovah! teach me thy statutes.13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as {much as} in all wealth.15 I will meditate upon thy precepts, and have respect unto thy paths.16 I delight myself in thy statutes; I will not forget thy word.

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, and standeth not in the way of sinners, and sitteth not in the seat of scorners;2 But his delight is in Jehovah's law, and in his law doth he meditate day and night.3 And he {is} as a tree planted by brooks of water, which giveth its fruit in its season, and whose leaf fadeth not; and all that he doeth prospereth.4 The wicked are not so; but are as the chaff which the wind driveth away.5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.6 For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.

22 {namely} your having put off according to the former conversation the old man which corrupts itself according to the deceitful lusts;23 and being renewed in the spirit of your mind;24 and {your} having put on the new man, which according to God is created in truthful righteousness and holiness.
