Homem

Then God said, "Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth." [Ps 104:30; Heb 1:2; 11:3] So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them. [Col 3:9, 10; James 3:8, 9]

And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool [afternoon breeze] of the day, so the man and his wife hid and kept themselves hidden from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, so death spread to all people [no one being able to stop it or escape its power], because they all sinned.

So it is written [in Scripture], "The first man, Adam, became a living soul (an individual);" the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving spirit [restoring the dead to life]. [Gen 2:7] However, the spiritual [the immortal life] is not first, but the physical [the mortal life]; then the spiritual. The first man [Adam] is from the earth, earthy [made of dust]; the second Man [Christ, the Lord] is from heaven. [Gen 2:7] As is the earthly man [the man of dust], so are those who are of earth; and as is the heavenly [Man], so are those who are of heaven. Just as we have borne the image of the earthly [the man of dust], we will also bear the image of the heavenly [the Man of heaven].

Fragilidade humana

O homem nascido de mulher é de poucos dias e cheio de inquietação. Deus conhece nossa fragilidade e cuida de nós.

Job Speaks of the Finality of Death

"Man, who is born of a woman,

Is short-lived and full of turmoil.

Can [mortal] man be just before God or be more righteous than He?

Can a man be pure before his Maker or be more cleansed than He? [1 John 1:7; Rev 1:5]

"What is man that You [should] magnify him [and think him important]?

And that You are concerned about him? [Ps 8:4]

But one has [solemnly] testified somewhere [in Scripture], saying,

"What is man, that You are mindful of him,

Or the son of man, that You graciously care for him?

Man’s steps are ordered and ordained by the Lord.

How then can a man [fully] understand his way?

Renovação e chamado

Despojados do velho homem e revestidos do novo, somos chamados a buscar a justiça, a piedade e o amor.

that, regarding your previous way of life, you put off your old self [completely discard your former nature], which is being corrupted through deceitful desires, and be continually renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh, untarnished mental and spiritual attitude], and put on the new self [the regenerated and renewed nature], created in God’s image, [godlike] in the righteousness and holiness of the truth [living in a way that expresses to God your gratitude for your salvation].

by abolishing in His [own crucified] flesh the hostility caused by the Law with its commandments contained in ordinances [which He satisfied]; so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thereby establishing peace.

But as for you, O man of God, flee from these things; aim at and pursue righteousness [true goodness, moral conformity to the character of God], godliness [the fear of God], faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness. [2 Tim 3:17]

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.

For the ways of man are directly before the eyes of the Lord,

And He carefully watches all of his paths [all of his comings and goings]. [2 Chr 16:9; Job 31:4; 34:21; Prov 15:3; Jer 16:17; Hos 7:2; Heb 4:13]

Contrast the Upright and the Wicked

The plans and reflections of the heart belong to man,

But the [wise] answer of the tongue is from the Lord.

A confiança errada

Maldito o homem que confia no homem. O homem de duplo ânimo é instável em todos os seus caminhos.

Thus says the Lord,

"Cursed is the man who trusts in and relies on mankind,

Making [weak, faulty human] flesh his strength,

And whose mind and heart turn away from the Lord.

For such a person ought not to think or expect that he will receive anything [at all] from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable and restless in all his ways [in everything he thinks, feels, or decides].

Do not sharply reprimand an older man, but appeal to him as [you would to] a father, to younger men as brothers,
