Homem
Then God said, "And now we will make human beings; they will be like us and resemble us. They will have power over the fish, the birds, and all animals, domestic and wild, large and small." So God created human beings, making them to be like himself. He created them male and female,
That evening they heard the Lord God walking in the garden, and they hid from him among the trees.
Sin came into the world through one man, and his sin brought death with it. As a result, death has spread to the whole human race because everyone has sinned.
For the scripture says, "The first man, Adam, was created a living being"; but the last Adam is the life-giving Spirit. It is not the spiritual that comes first, but the physical, and then the spiritual. The first Adam, made of earth, came from the earth; the second Adam came from heaven. Those who belong to the earth are like the one who was made of earth; those who are of heaven are like the one who came from heaven. Just as we wear the likeness of the man made of earth, so we will wear the likeness of the Man from heaven.
Fragilidade humana
O homem nascido de mulher é de poucos dias e cheio de inquietação. Deus conhece nossa fragilidade e cuida de nós.
We are all born weak and helpless.
All lead the same short, troubled life.
"Can anyone be righteous in the sight of God
or be pure before his Creator?
Why are people so important to you?
Why pay attention to what they do?
Instead, as it is said somewhere in the Scriptures:
"What are human beings, O God, that you should think of them;
mere human beings, that you should care for them?
The Lord has determined our path; how then can anyone understand the direction his own life is taking?
Renovação e chamado
Despojados do velho homem e revestidos do novo, somos chamados a buscar a justiça, a piedade e o amor.
So get rid of your old self, which made you live as you used to—the old self that was being destroyed by its deceitful desires. Your hearts and minds must be made completely new, and you must put on the new self, which is created in God’s likeness and reveals itself in the true life that is upright and holy.
He abolished the Jewish Law with its commandments and rules, in order to create out of the two races one new people in union with himself, in this way making peace.
But you, man of God, avoid all these things. Strive for righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.
When I was a child, my speech, feelings, and thinking were all those of a child; now that I am an adult, I have no more use for childish ways.
The Lord sees everything you do. Wherever you go, he is watching.
We may make our plans, but God has the last word.
A confiança errada
Maldito o homem que confia no homem. O homem de duplo ânimo é instável em todos os seus caminhos.
The Lord says,
"I will condemn those
who turn away from me
and put their trust in human beings,
in the strength of mortals.
If you are like that, unable to make up your mind and undecided in all you do, you must not think that you will receive anything from the Lord.
Do not rebuke an older man, but appeal to him as if he were your father. Treat the younger men as your brothers,
