Honrar pai e mãe é mandamento de Deus com promessa de vida longa e feliz. A Bíblia ensina que respeitar, obedecer e cuidar dos pais é dever sagrado dos filhos.
O mandamento com promessa
Honra a teu pai e a tua mãe para que vá bem contigo e vivas muito tempo sobre a terra. É o primeiro mandamento com promessa.

Children and Parents
Children, you belong to the Lord, and you do the right thing when you obey your parents. The first commandment with a promise says, "Obey your father and your mother, and you will have a long and happy life."
Parents, don’t be hard on your children. Raise them properly. Teach them and instruct them about the Lord.
Children must always obey their parents. This pleases the Lord.

Why do you disobey God and follow your own teaching? Didn’t God command you to respect your father and mother? Didn’t he tell you to put to death all who curse their parents?

But you let people get by without helping their parents when they should. You let them say that what they have has been offered to God.Is this any way to show respect to your parents? Consequências da desonra
A Bíblia adverte severamente contra a desonra aos pais. Quem amaldiçoa ou agride os pais enfrenta consequências sérias.
Disgraceful children
rob their father
and chase their mother away.

will go to the land of darkness
long before their time.
Don’t make fun of your father
or disobey your mother—
crows will peck out your eyes,
and buzzards will eat
the rest of you.
Death is the punishment for cursing your father or mother.
What People Will Be Like in the Last Days
You can be certain that in the last days there will be some very hard times. People will love only themselves and money. They will be proud, stuck-up, rude, and disobedient to their parents. They will also be ungrateful, godless, heartless, and hateful. Their words will be cruel, and they will have no self-control or pity. These people will hate everything good.
Cuidar dos pais
Quem não cuida dos seus, principalmente de sua família, negou a fé. Honrar os pais inclui respeitar os idosos.
But if a widow has children or grandchildren, they should learn to serve God by taking care of her, as she once took care of them. This is what God wants them to do.
People who don’t take care of their relatives, and especially their own families, have given up their faith. They are worse than someone who doesn’t have faith in the Lord.
Respect your father and your mother, honor the Sabbath, and don’t make idols or images. I am the Lord your God.
I command you to show respect for older people and to obey me with fear and trembling.
