Humildade

10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

6 *Humble yourselves, then, under God’s mighty hand, so that he will lift you up in his own good time.

14 if they pray to me and repent and turn away from the evil they have been doing, then I will hear them in heaven, forgive their sins, and make their land prosperous again.

8 Because the Lord is righteous and good,

he teaches sinners the path they should follow.

9 He leads the humble in the right way

and teaches them his will.

23 Arrogance will bring your downfall, but if you are humble, you will be respected.

12 No one is respected unless he is humble; arrogant people are on the way to ruin.

3 Don’t do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to boast, but be humble toward one another, always considering others better than yourselves.

Suffering for Doing Right

8 To conclude: you must all have the same attitude and the same feelings; love one another, and be kind and humble with one another.

3 *You should not use outward aids to make yourselves beautiful, such as the way you fix your hair, or the jewelry you put on, or the dresses you wear. 4 Instead, your beauty should consist of your true inner self, the ageless beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of the greatest value in God’s sight.

29 *Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. 30 For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light."

2 "So when you give something to a needy person, do not make a big show of it, as the hypocrites do in the houses of worship and on the streets. They do it so that people will praise them. I assure you, they have already been paid in full.

4 Obey the Lord, be humble, and you will get riches, honor, and a long life.

Personal Relations in the New Life

18 *Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, for that is what you should do as Christians.

19 *Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

16 *Have the same concern for everyone. Do not be proud, but accept humble duties.* Do not think of yourselves as wise.

28 He chose what the world looks down on and despises and thinks is nothing, in order to destroy what the world thinks is important. 29 This means that no one can boast in God’s presence.

13 *Are there any of you who are wise and understanding? You are to prove it by your good life, by your good deeds performed with humility and wisdom.
