Ídolos
A Bíblia condena a idolatria com veemência. Um ídolo é qualquer coisa que ocupa o lugar de Deus no coração. Os cristãos são chamados a guardar-se dos ídolos e servir ao Deus vivo.
Guardai-vos dos ídolos
Filhinhos, guardai-vos dos ídolos. A cobiça é idolatria. Tudo que ocupa o trono de Deus no coração é um ídolo.
21 Children, keep yourselves from idols.
5 Put to death therefore your members which {are} upon the earth, fornication, uncleanness, vile passions, evil lust, and unbridled desire, which is idolatry.
10 For the love of money is {the} root of every evil; which some having aspired after, have wandered from the faith, and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
23 Ye shall not make beside me gods of silver, and ye shall not make to you gods of gold.
4 Yet I {am} Jehovah thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou hast known no God but me; and there is no saviour besides me.
O único Deus verdadeiro
O Senhor é Deus nos céus e na terra — não há outro. Escolham hoje a quem servir, mas eu e a minha casa serviremos ao Senhor.
39 Thou shalt know therefore this day, and consider it in thy heart, that Jehovah, he is God in the heavens above, and on the earth beneath: {there is} none else.
4 Ye shall walk after Jehovah your God, and ye shall fear him, and his commandments shall ye keep, and his voice shall ye hear; and ye shall serve him, and unto him shall ye cleave.
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve Jehovah, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods whom your fathers that were on the other side of the river served, or the gods of the Amorite, in whose land ye dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.
9 Do ye not know that unrighteous {persons} shall not inherit {the} kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who make women of themselves, nor who abuse themselves with men,10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor abusive persons, nor {the} rapacious, shall inherit {the} kingdom of God.
Vencer a idolatria

11 and do not have fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather also reprove {them},12 for the things that are done by them in secret it is shameful even to say.
11 Put on the panoply of God, that ye may be able to stand against the artifices of the devil:
15 I do not demand that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them out of evil.
17 No weapon that is prepared against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that riseth against thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. This is the inheritance of the servants of Jehovah; and their righteousness is of me, saith Jehovah.
21 Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
56 Now the sting of death {is} sin, and the power of sin the law;
