A intimidade com Deus é o maior privilégio do cristão. Ele nos convida a nos aproximar, a conhecê-lo profundamente e a desfrutar de comunhão diária com o Criador do universo.
Aproximar-se de Deus
Chegai-vos a Deus e Ele se chegará a vós. Deus deseja intimidade, não religiosidade. Ele busca os que o buscam de todo coração.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners: and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
All you that thirst, come to the waters: and you that have no money make haste, buy, and eat: come ye, buy wine and milk without money, and without any price. Why do you spend money for that which is not breed, and your labour for that which doth not satisfy you? Hearken diligently to me, and eat that which is good, and your soul shall be delighted in fatness. Incline your ear and come to me: hear and your soul shall lire, and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the faithful mercies of David. Behold I have given him for a witness to the people, for a leader and a master to the Gentiles. Behold thou shalt call a nation, which thou knewest not: and the nations that knew not thee shall run to thee, because of the Lord thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel, for he hath glorified thee. Seek ye the Lord, while he may be found: call upon him, while he is near.
And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will hear; as they are yet speaking, I will hear.
Cry to me and I will hear thee: and I will shew thee great things, and sure things which thou knowest not.
For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of affliction, to give you an end and patience.
Sede de Deus
Como a corça deseja as correntes de água, assim a minha alma suspira por ti, ó Deus. A intimidade nasce do desejo profundo.
A psalm for David. Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from the nation that is not holy: deliver me from the unjust and deceitful man.
For thou art God my strength: why hast thou cast me off? and why do I go sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me?
Unto the end, a psalm for David.
Hear, O God, my prayer, when I make supplication to thee: deliver my soul from the fear of the enemy.
Thou hast protected me from the assembly of the malignant; from the multitude of the workers of iniquity.
For they have whetted their tongues like a sword; they have bent their bow a bitter thing,
To shoot in secret the undefiled.
They will shoot at him on a sudden, and will not fear: they are resolute in wickedness. They have talked of hiding snares; they have said: Who shall see them?
They have searched after iniquities: they have failed in their search. Man shall come to a deep heart:
And God shall be exalted. The arrows of children are their wounds:
And their tongues against them are made weak. All that saw them were troubled;
And every man was afraid. And they declared the works of God: and understood his doings.
The just shall rejoice in the Lord, and shall hope in him: and all the upright in heart shall be praised.
Unidade com o Pai
Jesus orou pela unidade dos seus com o Pai. A intimidade com Deus inclui confissão, perdão e alegria na comunhão.
And the glory which thou hast given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, as we also are one: I in them, and thou in me; that they may be made perfect in one: and the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast also loved me.
The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty, he will save: he will rejoice over thee with gladness, he will be silent in his love, he will be joyful over thee in praise.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all iniquity.
