Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother called Mary, and his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, aren’t they all with us? So where does he get all these things? "
While he was still speaking with the crowds, his mother and brothers were standing outside wanting to speak to him.
His mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent word to him and called him. A crowd was sitting around him and told him, "Look, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters are outside asking for you."
He replied to them, "Who are my mother and my brothers? "Looking at those sitting in a circle around him, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers!Whoever does the will of Godis my brother and sister and mother."
Then his mother and brothers came to him, but they could not meet with him because of the crowd.
Da incredulidade à fé
Os irmãos de Jesus não criam nele inicialmente. Mas após a ressurreição, estavam entre os discípulos em oração.
So his brothers said to him, "Leave here and go to Judea so that your disciples can see your works that you are doing. For no one does anything in secret while he’s seeking public recognition. If you do these things, show yourself to the world." (For not even his brothers believed in him.)
"Don’t cling to me," Jesus told her, "since I have not yet ascendedto the Father. But go to my brothersand tell them that I am ascending to my Fatherand your Father, to my Godand your God."
They all were continually united in prayer, along with the women, including Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.
But I didn’t see any of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.
For in bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was entirely appropriate that God — for whom and through whom all things exist — should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For the one who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,
