Os irmãos de Jesus são mencionados nos Evangelhos. Embora inicialmente céticos sobre sua missão, alguns, como Tiago, tornaram-se líderes da igreja primitiva.

Jesus teve irmãos chamados Tiago, José, Simão e Judas. Eles conviveram com Ele na casa de Nazaré e participaram de sua vida pública.
Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and his brothers James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas? Don’t his sisters live here among us? So where does he get all this from?"
While he was speaking to the crowds, his mother and his brothers arrived and stood outside, wanting to talk to him.

Then Jesus' mother and brothers arrived, but they couldn’t get through the crowd to see him.

They all joined together in prayer, together with the women and Mary, Jesus' mother, and his brothers.
I didn’t see any other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.
It was appropriate that God, who creates and maintains everything, should bring many of his children to glory, and to completely prepare through suffering the one who leads them to salvation. For both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy belong to the same family. That’s why he doesn’t hesitate to call them "brothers,"
