Is this not the carpenter’s Son? Is His mother not called Mary, and His brothers James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And His sistersare they not all with us? From where, then, to this One all these?"

And while He was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers had stood outside, seeking to speak to Him,

Then His brothers and mother come, and standing outside, they sent to Him, calling Him, and a multitude was sitting around Him, and they said to Him, "Behold, Your mother and Your brothers seek You outside." And He answered them, saying, "Who is My mother, or My brothers?" And having looked around in a circle to those sitting around Him, He says, "Behold, My mother and My brothers! For whoever may do the will of God, he is My brother, and My sister, and mother."

And there came to Him His mother and brothers, and they were not able to get to Him because of the multitude,

Da incredulidade à fé

Os irmãos de Jesus não criam nele inicialmente. Mas após a ressurreição, estavam entre os discípulos em oração.

Jesus says to her, "Do not be touching Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; and be going on to My brothers, and say to them, I ascend to My Father and your Father, and [to] My God and your God."

these were all continuing with one accord in prayer and supplication, with women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

and I did not see [any] other of the apostles, except James, the brother of the LORD.

For it was fitting to Him, because of whom [are] all things, and through whom [are] all things, bringing many sons to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings, for both He who is sanctifying and those sanctified [are] all of one, for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brothers,
