Os irmãos de Jesus são mencionados nos Evangelhos. Embora inicialmente céticos sobre sua missão, alguns, como Tiago, tornaram-se líderes da igreja primitiva.

Jesus teve irmãos chamados Tiago, José, Simão e Judas. Eles conviveram com Ele na casa de Nazaré e participaram de sua vida pública.

And looking around in a circle at the people sitting there, he said, "Behold, these are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of God is my brother and my sister and mother."

Then Jesus' mother and brothers came to him, but they were not able to reach him because of the crowd.

Os irmãos de Jesus não criam nele inicialmente. Mas após a ressurreição, estavam entre os discípulos em oração.
So Jesus' brothers said to him, "Leave here and go to Judea so that yoʋr disciples may see the works yoʋ are doing. For no one does anything in secret while seeking to be known publicly. If yoʋ are going to do these things, show yoʋrself to the world." (For not even his brothers believed in him.)
Jesus said to her, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brothers and tell them that I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God."
With one accord they were all devoting themselves to prayer and supplication, along with Jesus' brothers and several women, including Mary the mother of Jesus.
But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the brother of the Lord.
For in bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom all things exist, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering. For he who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified all have one Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers,
