Lei
A lei de Deus é expressão do seu caráter e amor. Do Sinai ao Sermão do Monte, a lei orienta, protege e revela o padrão santo de Deus para a vida humana.
O propósito da lei
A lei de Deus revela o pecado e nos conduz a Cristo. Pela lei é que temos consciência do que é justo e do que é errado.
for this reason by works of law will no flesh be declared righteous before Him, for through law is a knowledge of sin.
What then? Will we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Let it not be!
All things are lawful to me, but not all things are profitable; all things are lawful to me, but not all things build up;
for all the Law is fulfilled in one word—in this: "You will love your neighbor as yourself";
And the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, [and] self-control. Against such there is no law;
Bear the burdens of one another, and so fill up the law of the Christ,
Amar e obedecer
O maior mandamento é amar a Deus e ao próximo. Toda a lei se resume nestes dois mandamentos, que são o fundamento de tudo.
and the second [is] like [it], this, You will love your neighbor as yourself—there is no other command greater than these."
This is My command, that you love one another, according as I loved you;
All things, therefore, whatever you may will that men may be doing to you, so also do to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
To no one owe anything, except to love one another; for he who is loving the other—he has fulfilled law,
And this [is] the command we have from Him, that he who is loving God, may also love his brother.
Beloved, if our heart may not condemn us, we have boldness toward God, and whatever we may ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commands, and we do the things pleasing before Him,
Bênçãos da obediência à lei
Se andardes nos meus mandamentos, vivereis. A obediência à lei de Deus traz vida, paz e prosperidade espiritual.
"And it has been, if you listen diligently to the voice of your God YHWH, to observe to do all His commands which I am commanding you today, that your God YHWH has made you highest above all the nations of the earth,
in that today I am commanding you to love your God YHWH, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commands, and His statutes, and His judgments; and you have lived and multiplied, and your God YHWH has blessed you in the land to where you are going in to possess it.
And now, O Israel, what is your God YHWH asking from you, except to fear your God YHWH, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve your God YHWH with all your heart and with all your soul, to keep the commands of YHWH, and His statutes which I am commanding you today, for good for you?
And these words which I am commanding you today have been on your heart, and you have repeated them to your sons, and spoken of them in your sitting in your house, and in your walking in the way, and in your lying down, and in your rising up,
the scroll of this Law does not depart out of your mouth, and you have meditated in it by day and by night, so that you observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then you cause your way to prosper, and then you act wisely.
Only, be very watchful to do the command and the Law which Moses, servant of YHWH, commanded you, to love your God YHWH, and to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commands, and to cleave to Him, and to serve Him, with all your heart, and with all your soul."
I have sought You with all my heart, || Do not let me err from Your commands.
I have chosen the way of faithfulness, || I have compared Your judgments,
And the kindness of YHWH || [Is] from age even to age on those fearing Him, || And His righteousness to sons’ sons, To those keeping His covenant, || And to those remembering His precepts to do them.
Lei e graça
A lei veio para nos guiar; a graça veio para nos salvar. Em Cristo, cumprimos a lei pelo amor — o fruto do Espírito não tem lei contra si.
And the fathers: do not provoke your children, but nourish them in the instruction and admonition of the LORD.
He has declared to you, O man, what [is] good; Indeed, what is YHWH requiring of you, || Except—to do judgment, and love kindness, || And to walk lowly with your God?
And judgment rolls on as waters, || And righteousness as a perennial stream.
Do not become yoked with others—unbelievers, for what partaking [is there] to righteousness and lawlessness?
