Lei
A lei de Deus é expressão do seu caráter e amor. Do Sinai ao Sermão do Monte, a lei orienta, protege e revela o padrão santo de Deus para a vida humana.
O propósito da lei
A lei de Deus revela o pecado e nos conduz a Cristo. Pela lei é que temos consciência do que é justo e do que é errado.
20 because by the works of the Law none of all flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law [is] the knowledge of sin.
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under Law, but under grace? Let it not be!
23 All things are lawful to me, but not all things profit. All things are lawful to me, but not all things build up.
14 For all the Law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith,23 meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
2 Bear one another's burdens, and so you will fulfill the law of Christ.
Amar e obedecer
O maior mandamento é amar a Deus e ao próximo. Toda a lei se resume nestes dois mandamentos, que são o fundamento de tudo.
31 And [the] second [is] like this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.
12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
12 Therefore all things, whatever you desire that men should do to you, do even so to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.
8 Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
21 And we have this commandment from Him, that he who loves God should love his brother also.
21 Beloved, if our heart does not accuse us, we have confidence toward God.22 And whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
Bênçãos da obediência à lei
Se andardes nos meus mandamentos, vivereis. A obediência à lei de Deus traz vida, paz e prosperidade espiritual.
1 And it will be, if you shall listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe [and] to do all His commandments which I command you today, the LORD your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth.
16 in that I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, so that you may live and multiply. And the LORD your God shall bless you in the land where you go to possess it.
12 And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,13 to keep the commandments of the LORD, and His statutes, which I command you today for your good?
6 And these words which I command you this day shall be in your heart.7 And you shall carefully teach them to your sons, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it by day and by night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall act wisely.
5 Only, diligently take heed to do the commands and the law which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments, and to cleave to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
10 With all my heart I have sought You; do not let me wander from Your commandments.
30 I have chosen the way of truth; I have laid Your judgments [before me].
17 But the mercy of the LORD [is] from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness [is] to sons of sons;18 to those who keep His covenant, and to those who remember to do His commandments.
Lei e graça
A lei veio para nos guiar; a graça veio para nos salvar. Em Cristo, cumprimos a lei pelo amor — o fruto do Espírito não tem lei contra si.
4 And fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
8 He has shown you, O man, what [is] good. And what does the LORD require of you but to do justice and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God?
24 But let judgment roll down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream.
14 Do not be unequally yoked together [with] unbelievers; for what fellowship does righteousness [have] with lawlessness? And what partnership does light [have] with darkness?
