This book of the law shall not depart from thy mouth; and thou shalt meditate upon it day and night, that thou mayest take heed to do according to all that is written therein; for then shalt thou have good success in thy ways, and then shalt thou prosper.(Joshua 1:8)
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.(Psalms 119:105)
The entrance of thy words giveth light, giving understanding unto the simple.(Psalms 119:130)
Oh how I love thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
Thy commandments make me wiser than mine enemies; for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers; for thy testimonies are my meditation.(Psalms 119:97-99)
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his path? by taking heed according to thy word.
With my whole heart have I sought thee: let me not wander from thy commandments.
Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.(Psalms 119:9-11)
Every scripture is divinely inspired, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God may be complete, fully fitted to every good work.(2 Timothy 3:16,17)
Ye search the scriptures, for ye think that in them ye have life eternal, and they it is which bear witness concerning me;(John 5:39)
For as many things as have been written before have been written for our instruction, that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.(Romans 15:4)
Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things written in it; for the time is near.(Revelation 1:3)
Till I come, give thyself to reading, to exhortation, to teaching.(1 Timothy 4:13)
And these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, receiving the word with all readiness of mind, daily searching the scriptures if these things were so.(The Acts 17:11)
For Ezra had directed his heart to seek the law of Jehovah and to do it, and to teach in Israel the statutes and the ordinances.(Ezra 7:10)
And they read in the law of God distinctly out of the book, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.(Nehemiah 8:8)
And Jesus answering said to them, Do not ye therefore err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God?(Mark 12:24)
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thy heart; and thou shalt impress them on thy sons, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou goest on the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign on thy hand, and they shall be for frontlets between thine eyes.(Deuteronomy 6:6-8)
My son, if thou receivest my words, and layest up my commandments with thee, so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom and thou apply thy heart to understanding; yea, if thou criest after discernment and liftest up thy voice to understanding; if thou seekest her as silver and searchest for her as for hidden treasures: then shalt thou understand the fear of Jehovah, and find the knowledge of GodFor Jehovah giveth wisdom; out of his mouth come knowledge and understanding.(Proverbs 2:1-6)
