O que significa ser livre em Cristo

A verdadeira liberdade não é fazer tudo o que dá vontade, mas ser livre da culpa e do pecado por meio de Jesus. Quando Cristo transforma a sua caminhada, o passado perde o poder de condenar o seu presente.

1 For freedom did Christ set us free: stand fast therefore, and be not entangled again in a yoke of bondage.(Galatians 5:1)

36 If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.(John 8:36)

31 Jesus therefore said to those Jews that had believed him, If ye abide in my word, then are ye truly my disciples; 32 and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.(John 8:31,32)

Liberdade para servir, não para tropeçar

Ser livre na fé não é desculpa para se descuidar ou machucar os outros. A liberdade que Jesus dá ensina a fazer escolhas com discernimento e a colocar a vida a serviço do próximo.

13 For ye, brethren, were called for freedom; only use not your freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be servants one to another.(Galatians 5:13)

12 All things are lawful for me; but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me; but I will not be brought under the power of any.(1 Corinthians 6:12)

16 as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.(1 Peter 2:16)
