O que significa ser livre em Cristo

A verdadeira liberdade não é fazer tudo o que dá vontade, mas ser livre da culpa e do pecado por meio de Jesus. Quando Cristo transforma a sua caminhada, o passado perde o poder de condenar o seu presente.

1 Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.(Galatians 5:1)

36 If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36)

31 Jesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, "If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. 32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." (John 8:31,32)

Liberdade para servir, não para tropeçar

Ser livre na fé não é desculpa para se descuidar ou machucar os outros. A liberdade que Jesus dá ensina a fazer escolhas com discernimento e a colocar a vida a serviço do próximo.

13 For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.(Galatians 5:13)

12 "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are expedient. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be brought under the power of anything.(1 Corinthians 6:12)

16 Live as free people, yet not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.(1 Peter 2:16)
