Língua
Você já percebeu o estrago que uma única frase impensada consegue fazer em poucos segundos, assim como o bem duradouro que brota de um conselho dito no momento certo. A Bíblia trata desse assunto com uma franqueza incômoda, mostrando que o nosso falar revela exatamente o que vai dentro do coração.
Controlar o impulso de falar demais ou de usar as palavras para ferir exige uma vigilância diária que vai muito além das nossas próprias forças. As passagens a seguir mostram o peso que a fala carrega no dia a dia e apontam para a sobriedade que Deus espera dos seus filhos.
A língua tem poder de vida e de morte. A Bíblia compara a língua ao leme de um navio e à faísca que incendeia uma floresta. Dominar a língua é prova de maturidade espiritual.
O poder da língua
A morte e a vida estão no poder da língua. Quem a domina é varão perfeito, capaz de controlar todo o corpo.
For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a mature man, able also to bridle the whole body.
Consider that we put bits in horses' mouths that they may obey us, and we guide their whole body. Consider also the ships: although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the impulse of the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a small member and it boasts great things.
See how great a forest is kindled by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity. Thus the tongue is set among our members, as that which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.
For every kind of both beasts and birds, of both reptiles and sea creatures, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unrestrainable evil, full of deadly poison.
With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the likeness of God. Out of the same mouth come blessings and curses. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. The spring does not pour forth from the same opening both the sweet and the bitter water, does it? It is not possible, my brothers, for a fig tree to produce olives, or a vine to produce figs, is it? Thus no spring is able to produce both salt and sweet water.

If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceiving his heart, the religion of this man is useless.
Toda língua confessará
Ao nome de Jesus todo joelho se dobrará e toda língua confessará que Jesus Cristo é Senhor, para glória de Deus Pai.
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him, and has bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Love is the Greatest
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become as sounding brass or a clashing cymbal.
But I say to you, that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the Day of Judgment. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned."
