20 But don’t be glad because the evil spirits obey you; rather be glad because your names are written in heaven."

3 And you too, my faithful partner, I want you to help these women; for they have worked hard with me to spread the gospel, together with Clement and all my other fellow workers, whose names are in God’s book of the living.

8 *All people living on earth will worship it, except those whose names were written before the creation of the world in the book of the living which belongs to the Lamb that was killed.

8 *That beast was once alive, but lives no longer; it is about to come up from the abyss and will go off to be destroyed. The people living on earth whose names have not been written before the creation of the world in the book of the living, will all be amazed as they look at the beast. It was once alive; now it no longer lives, but it will reappear.

The Final Judgment

11 *Then I saw a great white throne and the one who sits on it. Earth and heaven fled from his presence and were seen no more. 12 *And I saw the dead, great and small alike, standing before the throne. Books were opened, and then another book was opened, the book of the living. The dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. 13 Then the sea gave up its dead. Death and the world of the dead also gave up the dead they held. And all were judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and the world of the dead were thrown into the lake of fire. (This lake of fire is the second death.) 15 Those who did not have their name written in the book of the living were thrown into the lake of fire.

27 *But nothing that is impure will enter the city, nor anyone who does shameful things or tells lies. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of the living will enter the city.

The Time of the End

1 *The angel wearing linen clothes said, "At that time the great angel Michael, who guards your people, will appear. Then there will be a time of troubles, the worst since nations first came into existence. When that time comes, all the people of your nation whose names are written in God’s book will be saved. 2 *Many of those who have already died will live again: some will enjoy eternal life, and some will suffer eternal disgrace.

5 *Those who win the victory will be clothed like this in white, and I will not remove their names from the book of the living. In the presence of my Father and of his angels I will declare openly that they belong to me.

16 you saw me before I was born.

The days allotted to me

had all been recorded in your book,

before any of them ever began.

8 You know how troubled I am;

you have kept a record of my tears.

Aren’t they listed in your book?

26 They persecute those whom you have punished;

they talk about the sufferings of those you have wounded.

27 Keep a record of all their sins;

don’t let them have any part in your salvation.

28 *May their names be erased from the book of the living;

may they not be included in the list of your people.

16 Then the people who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord listened and heard what they said. In his presence, there was written down in a book a record of those who feared the Lord and respected him.

32 *Please forgive their sin; but if you won’t, then remove my name from the book in which you have written the names of your people."

33 The Lord answered, "It is those who have sinned against me whose names I will remove from my book.
