Na Bíblia, a luz representa a verdade divina, a santidade e a salvação, enquanto as trevas simbolizam o pecado, o engano e a morte espiritual.
Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life."(John 8:12)
In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.(John 1:4,5)
While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."(John 9:5)
I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in the darkness. (John 12:46)
This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God."(John 3:19-21)
This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.(1 John 1:5)
But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.(1 John 1:7)
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation nor turning shadow.(James 1:17)
"You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.(Matthew 5:14-16)
the people who sat in darkness saw a great light;
to those who sat in the region and shadow of death,
to them light has dawned."(Matthew 4:16)
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.(1 Peter 2:9)
You are all children of light and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness,(1 Thessalonians 5:5)
Your word is a lamp to my feet,
and a light for my path.(Psalms 119:105)
The entrance of your words gives light.
It gives understanding to the simple.(Psalms 119:130)
Yahweh is my light and my salvation.
Whom shall I fear?
Yahweh is the strength of my life.
Of whom shall I be afraid?(Psalms 27:1)
For with you is the spring of life.
In your light we will see light.(Psalms 36:9)
For you will light my lamp, Yahweh.
My God will light up my darkness.(Psalms 18:28)
Commit your way to Yahweh.
Trust also in him, and he will do this:
he will make your righteousness shine out like light,
and your justice as the noon day sun.(Psalms 37:5,6)
For you have delivered my soul from death,
and prevented my feet from falling,
that I may walk before God in the light of the living.(Psalms 56:13)
Turn us again, Yahweh God of Armies.
Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved.(Psalms 80:19)
For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword,
neither did their own arm save them;
but your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face,
because you were favorable to them.(Psalms 44:3)
Make your face to shine on your servant.
Save me in your loving kindness.(Psalms 31:16)
in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. For we don’t preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake, seeing it is God who said, "Light will shine out of darkness," who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.(2 Corinthians 4:4-6)
Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?(2 Corinthians 6:14)
having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,(Ephesians 1:18)
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.
The light has shined on those who lived in the land of the shadow of death.(Isaiah 9:2)
"Arise, shine; for your light has come,
and Yahweh’s glory has risen on you!
For behold, darkness will cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but Yahweh will arise on you,
and his glory shall be seen on you.
Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your rising.(Isaiah 60:1-3)
"Listen to me, my people;
and hear me, my nation,
for a law will go out from me,
and I will establish my justice for a light to the peoples.(Isaiah 51:4)
O testemunho cristão e a esperança final
God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.(Genesis 1:3)
‘Yahweh bless you, and keep you.
Yahweh make his face to shine on you,
and be gracious to you.
Yahweh lift up his face toward you,
and give you peace.’(Numbers 6:24-26)
He reveals the deep and secret things.
He knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him.(Daniel 2:22)
For so has the Lord commanded us, saying,
‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles,
that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’"(Acts 13:47)
Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen, how the Christ must suffer, and how, by the resurrection of the dead, he would be first to proclaim light both to these people and to the Gentiles."(Acts 26:22,23)
"No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a container or puts it under a bed; but puts it on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light. (Luke 8:16)
The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness. (Luke 11:34)
Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.(Luke 12:3)
The city has no need for the sun or moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it and its lamp is the Lamb.(Revelation 21:23)
There will be no night, and they need no lamp light or sun light; for the Lord God will illuminate them. They will reign forever and ever.(Revelation 22:5)
