Mãe
A mãe é honrada na Bíblia como pilar da família. Seu amor incondicional, sua sabedoria e sua dedicação são celebrados como reflexo do próprio amor de Deus por seus filhos.
O amor de mãe
Pode uma mãe esquecer-se do filho do seu ventre? Ainda que ela se esquecesse, Deus nunca nos abandona. O amor materno reflete o divino.
13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
3 Lo, children are an inheritance from Jehovah, {and} the fruit of the womb a reward.
1 [A Song of degrees.] Blessed is every one that feareth Jehovah, that walketh in his ways.2 For thou shalt eat the labour of thy hands; happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
4 Love has long patience, is kind; love is not emulous {of others}; love is not insolent and rash, is not puffed up,5 does not behave in an unseemly manner, does not seek what is its own, is not quickly provoked, does not impute evil,6 does not rejoice at iniquity but rejoices with the truth,7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

A mãe sábia instrui os filhos nos caminhos de Deus. Seu ensino é lei que guia e sua disciplina é expressão de amor verdadeiro.
8 Hear, my son, the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the teaching of thy mother;9 for they shall be a garland of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
6 Train up the child according to the tenor of his way, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son; but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
20 A wise son maketh a glad father; but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things that thine eyes have seen (and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life; but thou shalt make them known to thy sons and to thy sons' sons),

Honra teu pai e tua mãe. A mulher virtuosa é digna de louvor — seus filhos se levantam e a chamam bem-aventurada.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be prolonged in the land that Jehovah thy God giveth thee.
1 Children, obey your parents in {the} Lord, for this is just.2 Honour thy father and thy mother, which is the first commandment with a promise,3 that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest be long-lived on the earth.
10 Who can find a woman of worth? for her price is far above rubies.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laugheth {at} the coming day.26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and upon her tongue is the law of kindness.27 She surveyeth the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband {also}, and he praiseth her:29 Many daughters have done worthily, but thou excellest them all.30 Gracefulness is deceitful and beauty is vain; a woman {that} feareth Jehovah, she shall be praised.
