A mãe é honrada na Bíblia como pilar da família. Seu amor incondicional, sua sabedoria e sua dedicação são celebrados como reflexo do próprio amor de Deus por seus filhos.
O amor de mãe
Pode uma mãe esquecer-se do filho do seu ventre? Ainda que ela se esquecesse, Deus nunca nos abandona. O amor materno reflete o divino.

A mãe sábia instrui os filhos nos caminhos de Deus. Seu ensino é lei que guia e sua disciplina é expressão de amor verdadeiro.
8 Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and reject not your mother's teaching;9 for they are a fair garland for your head, and pendants for your neck.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
24 He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.
20 A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish man despises his mother.

10 A good wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.27 She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:29 "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all."30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
