13 *The fear of the Lord is *hatred of evil.

and *perverted speech I hate.

10 O you who love the Lord, *hate evil!

He *preserves the lives of his *saints;

he *delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

14 *Turn away from evil and do good;

seek peace and *pursue it.

133 *Keep steady my steps according to your promise,

and let no iniquity *get dominion over me.

16 *Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;

remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;

*cease to do evil,

7 *Be not wise in your own eyes;

*fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.

8 It will be *healing to your flesh*

and *refreshment* to your bones.

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

9 *Let love be genuine. *Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.

Final Instructions and Greetings

17 I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles *contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; *avoid them.

15 See that *no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always *seek to do good to one another and to everyone.

21 Therefore *put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with *meekness the implanted word, *which is able to save your souls.

12 Hatred stirs up strife,

but *love covers all offenses.

9 "Thus says the Lord of hosts, *Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, 10 *do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, *or the poor, and *let none of you devise evil against another in your heart."
