Marido e mulher
O casamento é aliança sagrada entre marido e mulher, instituída por Deus desde o Éden. A Bíblia define papéis complementares fundados em amor, respeito e fidelidade mútua.
Instituição divina
Deus criou homem e mulher e os uniu em uma só carne. O casamento é projeto divino que reflete o amor de Cristo pela Igreja.
And God creates the man in His image; in the image of God He created him, a male and a female He created them.
And YHWH God says, "[It is] not good for the man to be alone; I make him a helper as his counterpart."
therefore a man leaves his father and his mother, and has cleaved to his wife, and they have become one flesh.
And He answering said to them, "Did you not read that He who made [them] from the beginning, made them a male and a female, and said, For this cause will a man leave father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and they will be—the two—for one flesh? So that they are no longer two, but one flesh; what therefore God joined together, let no man separate."
And He did not make one [only], || And a remnant of the Spirit [is] for him. And what [is] the one [alone]! He is seeking a godly seed. And you have been watchful over your spirit, || And with the wife of your youth, || None deal treacherously.
Papéis no casamento
O marido ama e a mulher respeita. Ambos se submetem voluntariamente a Deus e um ao outro, em parceria e unidade.
The husbands: love your own wives, as the Christ also loved the Assembly, and gave Himself for it, that He might sanctify it, having cleansed [it] with the bathing of the water in the saying, that He might present the Assembly to Himself in glory, having no spot or wrinkle, or any of such things, but that it may be holy and unblemished; so ought the husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies: he who is loving his own wife—he loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and nurtures it, as also the LORD—the Assembly,
The wives: [subject yourselves] to your own husbands, as to the LORD, because the husband is head of the wife, as also the Christ [is] head of the Assembly, and He is Savior of the body, but even as the Assembly is subject to Christ, so also [are] the wives [subject] to their own husbands in everything.
but you also, everyone in particular—let each so love his own wife as himself, and the wife—that she may revere the husband.
The wives: be subject to your own husbands, as is fit in the LORD; the husbands: love your wives, and do not be bitter with them;
Wives, be subject to your own husbands in like manner, that even if some are disobedient to the word, they may be won through the behavior of the wives without the word, having beheld your pure behavior in fear,
Husbands, in like manner, dwelling with [them], according to knowledge, as to a weaker vessel—to the wife—imparting honor, as also being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers are not hindered.
Fidelidade e união
O casamento é honroso e deve ser preservado com fidelidade. O cordão de três dobras não se rompe facilmente.
The two [are] better than the one, in that they have a good reward by their labor. For if they fall, the one raises up his companion, but woe to the one who falls and there is not a second to raise him up! Also, if two lie down, then they have heat, but how has one heat? And if the one strengthens himself, the two stand against him; and the threefold cord is not quickly broken.
[ALEPH-BET] A woman of worth who finds? Indeed, her price [is] far above rubies. The heart of her husband has trusted in her, || And he does not lack spoil.
[Whoever] has found a wife has found good, || And brings out goodwill from YHWH.
House and wealth [are] the inheritance of fathers, || And an understanding wife [is] from YHWH.
A virtuous woman [is] a crown to her husband, || And as rottenness in his bones [is] one causing shame.
Let your fountain be blessed, || And rejoice because of the wife of your youth, A doe of loves, and a roe of grace! Let her loves satisfy you at all times, || Magnify yourself in her love continually.
Permanecer juntos
O que Deus uniu, o homem não separe. A Bíblia protege o casamento e orienta sobre convivência, perdão e perseverança conjugal.
And concerning the things of which you wrote to me: [it is] good for a man not to touch a woman, and because of the whoredom let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her proper husband; to the wife let the husband render the due benevolence, and in like manner also the wife to the husband; the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband; and in like manner also, the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife. Do not defraud one another, except by consent for a time, that you may be free for fasting and prayer, and again may come together, that Satan may not tempt you because of your self-indulgence;
and to the married I announce—not I, but the LORD—do not let a wife separate from a husband: but, and if she may separate, let her remain unmarried, or let her be reconciled to the husband, and do not let a husband send a wife away.
And if the unbelieving separates himself—let him separate himself: the brother or the sister is not under servitude in such [cases], and in peace has God called us; for what, have you known, O wife, whether you will save the husband? Or what, have you known, O husband, whether you will save the wife?
For the married woman to the living husband has been bound by law, and if the husband may die, she has been free from the law of the husband;
When a man takes a new wife, he does not go out into the host, and [one] does not pass over to him for anything; he is free at his own house [for] one year, and his wife, whom he has taken, he has made glad.
