Marido e mulher
O casamento é aliança sagrada entre marido e mulher, instituída por Deus desde o Éden. A Bíblia define papéis complementares fundados em amor, respeito e fidelidade mútua.
Instituição divina
Deus criou homem e mulher e os uniu em uma só carne. O casamento é projeto divino que reflete o amor de Cristo pela Igreja.
4 He replied, "Have you not read that the Creator in the beginning 'made them male and female,'5 and said, 'For this cause shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife and the two shall become one flesh'?6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What, therefore, God has yoked together let not man put asunder."
Papéis no casamento
O marido ama e a mulher respeita. Ambos se submetem voluntariamente a Deus e um ao outro, em parceria e unidade.
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it,26 that he might make it holy, cleansing it by the washing with water according to his word,27 that he might present to himself the church glorious, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but holy and faultless.28 Thus ought men to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself,29 for no one ever hates his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,
22 wives to their own husbands as in the Lord,23 because a man is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church and he is the savior of the body.24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so wives are to their husbands in everything.
33 But each one of you must love his own wife as himself, and the wife must reverence her husband.
18 Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh toward them.
1 IN the same way you wives are to be submissive to your own husbands, so that if any disbelieve the message they may be won over by the lives of their wives without argument,2 when they look at your pure, reverential behavior.
7 In the same way, you husbands must live with your wives wisely, since woman's sex is weaker, but you must give them honor as fellow heirs of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
Fidelidade e união
O casamento é honroso e deve ser preservado com fidelidade. O cordão de três dobras não se rompe facilmente.
Permanecer juntos
O que Deus uniu, o homem não separe. A Bíblia protege o casamento e orienta sobre convivência, perdão e perseverança conjugal.
1 WITH reference to the matters you wrote of: It is an excellent thing for a man not to touch a woman.2 But because of the prevailing unchastity, let each man have his own wife and each woman her own husband.3 Let the husband pay his wife conjugal dues and the wife her husband.4 The wife has not power over her own body, but her husband has. In the same way the husband has not power over his own body, but his wife has.5 Do not deprive one another, unless by agreement for a time, that you may have freedom for prayer, and again come together. You must not let Satan tempt you through your lack of self-control.
10 To the married I command \'97 yet not I, but the Lord \'97 that the wife is not to leave her husband11 if she leaves him let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband and the husband is not to put away his wife.
15 But if the unbelieving one actually leaves, let him leave. The brother or sister is not under bondage in such cases; but God has called you to peace.16 For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?
2 For a married woman is by law bound to her husband while he is living. But if the husband dies, she is freed from the law of her husband.
