O marido
O amor do marido deve ser sacrificial e incondicional.
The husbands: love your own wives, as the Christ also loved the Assembly, and gave Himself for it,
so ought the husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies: he who is loving his own wife—he loves himself;
so ought the husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies: he who is loving his own wife—he loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and nurtures it, as also the LORD—the Assembly,
but you also, everyone in particular—let each so love his own wife as himself, and the wife—that she may revere the husband.
For this reason, putting away the lying, each speak truth with his neighbor, because we are members of one another; be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your wrath, neither give place to the Devil; whoever is stealing let him no longer steal, but rather let him labor, working the thing that is good with the hands, that he may have to impart to him having need. Let no corrupt word go forth out of your mouth, but what is good to the necessary building up, that it may give grace to the hearers; and do not make the Holy Spirit of God sorrowful, in which you were sealed to [the] day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice, and become kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, according as God also forgave you in Christ.
the husbands: love your wives, and do not be bitter with them;
The wives: be subject to your own husbands, as is fit in the LORD; the husbands: love your wives, and do not be bitter with them;
and above all these things, [have] love, which is a bond of the perfection,
Fidelidade conjugal
O casamento é honroso e o leito conjugal é santo. O marido deve ser fiel à esposa da sua juventude em pensamento e ação.
The marriage [is to be] honored by all, and the bed undefiled, for God will judge whoremongers and adulterers.
Drink waters out of your own cistern, || Even flowing ones out of your own well. Let your fountains be scattered abroad, || In broad places streams of waters. Let them be to you for yourself, || And not to strangers with you. Let your fountain be blessed, || And rejoice because of the wife of your youth, A doe of loves, and a roe of grace! Let her loves satisfy you at all times, || Magnify yourself in her love continually. And why do you magnify yourself, || My son, with a stranger? And embrace the bosom of a strange woman?
but I say to you that everyone who is looking on a woman to desire her, already committed adultery with her in his heart.
but I say to you that whoever may put away his wife, except for the matter of whoredom, makes her to commit adultery; and whoever may marry her who has been put away commits adultery.
So that they are no longer two, but one flesh; what therefore God joined together, let no man separate."
to the wife let the husband render the due benevolence, and in like manner also the wife to the husband; the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband; and in like manner also, the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife.
Do not defraud one another, except by consent for a time, that you may be free for fasting and prayer, and again may come together, that Satan may not tempt you because of your self-indulgence;
and to the married I announce—not I, but the LORD—do not let a wife separate from a husband: but, and if she may separate, let her remain unmarried, or let her be reconciled to the husband, and do not let a husband send a wife away. And to the rest I speak—not the LORD—if any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she is pleased to dwell with him, do not let him send her away;
flee the whoredom; every sin—whatever a man may commit—is outside the body, and he who is committing whoredom sins against his own body.
Convivência com sabedoria
O marido sábio vive com a esposa com entendimento, dando-lhe honra como co-herdeira da graça. A união conjugal reflete Cristo e a Igreja.
Husbands, in like manner, dwelling with [them], according to knowledge, as to a weaker vessel—to the wife—imparting honor, as also being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers are not hindered.
therefore a man leaves his father and his mother, and has cleaved to his wife, and they have become one flesh.
nothing in rivalry or vainglory, but in humility of mind counting one another more excellent than yourselves— do not each look to your own, but each also to the things of others.
See life with the wife whom you have loved, all the days of the life of your vanity, that He has given to you under the sun, all the days of your vanity, for it [is] your portion in life, even of your labor that you are laboring at under the sun.
[Whoever] has found a wife has found good, || And brings out goodwill from YHWH.
see [that] no one may render evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue that which is good, both to one another and to all;
and if [it is] wrong in your eyes to serve YHWH—choose for yourselves today whom you serve—whether the gods whom your fathers served, which [are] beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorite in whose land you are dwelling; but me and my house—we serve YHWH."
Do not become yoked with others—unbelievers, for what partaking [is there] to righteousness and lawlessness?
Love is long-suffering, it is kind, love does not envy, love does not vaunt itself, is not puffed up, does not act unseemly, does not seek its own things, is not provoked, does not impute evil, [does] not rejoice over unrighteousness, and rejoices with the truth; it bears all things, it believes all, it hopes all, it endures all.
