Materialismo

26 For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

36 For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?

9 But they who will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts which plunge men into destruction and perdition.

7 For we brought nothing into the world, [and it is] clear that we can carry nothing out.8 But having food and clothing, we will be content.

7 For we brought nothing into the world, [and it is] clear that we can carry nothing out.8 But having food and clothing, we will be content.

Tesouros no céu

Ajuntai tesouros no céu, onde traça e ferrugem não consomem. O bom nome vale mais que muitas riquezas, e a sabedoria supera o ouro.

19 Do not lay up treasures on earth for yourselves, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal.20 But lay up treasures in Heaven for yourselves, where neither moth nor rust corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

21 Jesus said to him, If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to [the] poor, and you shall have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me.

1 A [good] name [is] rather to be chosen than great riches; [and] loving favor rather than silver or gold.

16 How much better [it is] to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver!

16 Better [is] a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and tumult with it.

Contentamento e generosidade

Grande ganho é a piedade com contentamento. A cobiça é idolatria, mas a generosidade traz alegria e bênção.

17 Charge the rich in this world that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, He offering to us richly all things to enjoy,

5 [Let your] way of life [be] without the love of money, [and be] content with such things as you have, for He has said, Not at all will I leave you, not at all will I forsake you, never!

5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness (which is idolatry),

15 And He said to them, Watch and keep yourselves from covetousness. For a man's life is not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.

10 He who loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver, and he who loves abundance not with] gain. This [is] also vanity.

15 As he came forth from his mother's womb naked, he shall return to go as he came. And from his labor he may not carry anything that may go in his hand.

O invisível acima do visível

As coisas que se veem são temporais; as que não se veem são eternas. Devemos fixar os olhos no que é permanente e verdadeiro.

18 we not considering the things which are seen, but the things which are not seen; for the things which [are] seen [are] not lasting, but the things which [are] not seen [are] everlasting.

11 The rich man's wealth [is] his strong city, and as a high wall in his own mind.

4 Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

5 Will your eyes fly on it? And [it] is gone! For surely it makes wings for itself; it flies [into] the heavens like an eagle.

26 He covets greedily all the day long; but the righteous gives and spares not.

8 remove far from me vanity and a lying word; give me neither poverty or riches; tear for me my portion of bread,

9 In the same way also, I desire that women adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and sensibleness, not [adorned] with braiding, or gold, or pearls, or costly clothing,10 but with good works, which becomes women professing godliness.

32 And the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul. And not one said that any of the things which he possessed was his own. But they had all things common.
