Materialismo: o perigo da riqueza e o contentamento
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.(Luke 12:15)
Mortify (put to death; remove the life of) therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate (unrestrained; immoderate) affection, evil concupiscence (strong lust; passion), and covetousness, which is idolatry:(Colossians 3:5)
"What profit is there for a man if he should gain the whole world and lose his soul forever; what good exchange does a man make if, for present things that are spoiled, he should give his soul to the judgment of Gei-Hinnom [hell, valley of evil counsel]?"(Gosel 16:26)
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?(Mark 8:36)
He that loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loves abundance with increase: this [is] also vanity.(Ecclesiastes 5:10)
As he came forth of his mother’s womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.(Ecclesiastes 5:15)
For we brought nothing into [this] world, [and it is] certain we can carry nothing out.
And having food and clothing let us be with that content.(1 Timothy 6:7,8)
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.(1 Timothy 6:9)
Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death.(Mishlei - Proverbs 11:4)
The rich man’s wealth [is] his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.(Mishlei - Proverbs 18:11)
Will youi set youi eyes upon that which is not? for [riches] certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.(Mishlei - Proverbs 23:5)
But godliness with contentment is great gain.(1 Timothy 6:6)
[Let your] Conversation (behavior; way of life; community) [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as you2f have: for he has said, I will never leave youi, nor forsake youi.(Hebrews 13:5)
Better [is] little with the fear of the LORD-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] than great treasure and trouble therewith.(Mishlei - Proverbs 15:16)
How much better [is it] to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!(Mishlei - Proverbs 16:16)
A [good] name [is] rather to be chosen than great riches, [and] loving favour rather than silver and gold.(Mishlei - Proverbs 22:1)
Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient (fit; appropriate; proper (one’s own; peculiar; particular)) for me:(Mishlei - Proverbs 30:8)
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array (to put on; to clothe);
But (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.(1 Timothy 2:9,10)
Generosidade e tesouros duradouros
Again he said to them: "Do not keep on heaping up treasures on earth so that decay and grub devour it or thieves dig through and steal them"
"Make for yourselves treasures in heaven where the worm and the grub do not devour them and where thieves do not dig through and steal".(Gosel 6:19,20)
"In the place where your treasure is there will be your heart".(Gosel 6:21)
Yeshua [God is Salvation] said unto him: "If you wish to be perfect go and sell all which you have and give it to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven and follow me".(Gosel 19:21)
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God-The Father, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;(1 Timothy 6:17)
He covets greedily all the day long: but the righteous gives and spares not.(Mishlei - Proverbs 21:26)
And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any [of them] that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.(Acts 4:32)
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen [are] temporal; but the things which are not seen [are] eternal.(2 Corinthians 4:18)
